I woke up in the middle of the night pondering this. I know, I'm odd

Does anyone here play any instruments or sing? I bet we have some pretty talented folks on this board!

I used to play the piano pretty well but am rusty now (not enough time to keep up the practice). My husband can play the guitar.

And one time while in New Orleans, I found out I could play a darn good washboard. Granted, it was New Orleans, I was on Bourbon Street and I was drunk at the time, but I did get a standing ovation.

A guitarist and felllow pianist- very cool

I'll go ahead and throw mine in... I've played piano since I was 4 (and as soon as I own a house my mom is giving me hers and I can keep up with playing), clarinet, and saxophone. LOVE the saxophone.
I also sing and almost tried out for American Idol 2 years ago when they came to Atlanta. Alas, the gods intervened, I couldn't get to the audition, and now I may never marry Clay Aiken. Sigh.

Me: Oh Clay, I think you're so talented, you gorgeous girly-man.
Clay: Oh Amy, your voice is like that of an angel. Make me swoooon.
Me: Oh no Clay, you couldn't handle it if I made you swoon.
Clay: Beneath this girly-man exterior is the soul of a manly-man. Try me.
Me: Ok. *singing* And Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii will always love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
Clay: Oh Amy, marry me.
Me: No way Jose, I'm with Bradley. I just wanted to have this fun dream sequence with you.
*In walks Constantine Maroulis*
Me: But if Constantine asks me to marry him...
Constantine: Marry me Amy.
Me: Bradley who?

Haha, I'm just kidding y'all. Bradley already knows about my thing for Constantine. And I'm REALLY kidding about Clay Aiken!

I don't know if I want to see Ryan "tinkle" the ivories. It would probably be less embarassing for all of us (and less damage to the piano) if he "tickled" the ivories. (Unless that is what they do in Merry Ol' England, Susan.
)

Me? I can play the piano and organ enough to entertain myself and have done some practicing on the tin whistle. (I play the tin whistle by ear. Saves wear and tear on the fingers.
) But my musical ability is my voice which when trained (which it isn't now
) goes from the contralto to first soprano range. Never have been able to go into coloratura.

I used to do Musical Theater and One Act Plays in high school.
Senior year I played Maggie Jones in 42nd Street. It was soooooo much fun.

I miss it. *sniffle*

oh, my husband and I are musical geeks to the max :-) We actually met almost 8 years ago doing a community theater production of Tommy

But yes, I play the piano (not as well as 15 yrs of lessons should indicate though) and sing. I dabble in the guitar and I am trying to learn bass to help out at church a little more!

My husband is amazing on the piano and completely self taught. :-)

And of course, we are total theater geeks!

Well I can play the piano fairly well, not as well as I used to as I haven't had the time to play in a long time. I am looking to get back into it it's just I need to either buy a keyboard or start spending more time at my parent's house and have the piano tuned up. We'll see which I go with, I'm leaning toward the keyboard at this point. Some day when I have a house, I'll buy myself a piano.

Apparently I can sing. I won a trophy for it when I was young and took lessons in high school and apparently have a 5 octave range, but for some reason I get too shy to do it anymore.
Which is odd since if you put me on a stage I never want to leave. It's just with singing I guess. Oh well!

I played the clarinet in middle school.
My clarinet is now at my parents but I played all 3 years. Started off 1st chair for most of 6th grade, then became best friends with a more rebellious girl who was always last chair and from then on out I was ALWAYS second to last chair!!!

That's my very limited musical ability. I could possibly dance though while the TCS band plays??

I play the flute. I was a band geek, big time. I play a little saxaphone (same fingerings as the flute) but do not own one. I pick up my flute every now and then and mess around on it just so I don't forget stuff.

I also sing, I love to sing. I prefer singing back up harmony because it's easier for me to find the note if someone else is singing the main chord. My daughter can sing! She has the absolute best vibratto I've ever heard!!! She doesn't have any tonsils or adenoids so her voice is very loud, projects, and she can hit notes that make Mariah Carey look lame.

Oh Amy I think Constantine is a hottie, too! It's those bedroom eyes!! Oh and I liked Mario Vasquez before he quit. I miss him!!! I have a feeling he'll definitely be a success even without the show.

I am very good with the guitar and harmonica. I can play just about anything given time. Thanks to my great-grandpa for that (God rest his soul).

Susan! Tinkle! What did you drink this morning, woman!?

I do play the violin! - trained classical but love fiddlin' with a banjo, base, and slide guitar, sounds native to the South and where I grew up. I moved to Maple Valley hoping to find some good stuff here, but they just look at me like I'm a little odd.
