My Mom and Grandma love him. His show is on at 2 different times and they watch it at both times (3pm and midnight). Personally I don't really care for him.

YEAH! But I still watch sometimes, cuz it just cracks me up the things he says. EXCEPT when he makes claims without studies to back himself up. That's one of my biggest pet peeves...no evidence to back up your info and spouting statistics out of context of the study.

My daughter and I went to his show when it first got started, now that I don't think I would do again, to much waiting and you have to be there real early . But as a whole I think he's great, common sence, down to earth and very out spoken, tells it like it is

I used to watch, but not anymore. I like Maury now, that show cracks me up, especially when mothers come on, who do not know who the father of their baby is

I really can't appreciate or approve of any therapist that "goes Hollywood" Therapy, good therapy is meant to be an intimate relationship between patient and therapist. I do appreciate that the show (at least I've heard) pays for real therapy for those who want to continue. With ten years of therapy under my belt, I would not see Dr. Phil if he was the last therapist on earth.

You know, I could have sworn I watched a biography on him that wasn't too flattering. That his "degree" was actually a degree-by-mail program that was not an accredited school. (Meaning that it was nothing more than toilet paper.) And that it wasn't even in psychology. That before his show he actually had no experiance whatsoever in psychology, or even counsiling.

Anyone know if this was just a rumor or not? I could have sworn I saw it on E! (The Entertainment Channel on cable.)

When I read your post I got to looking to see what kind of degree he actually had, I couldn't think that a network would give someone a TV show with out checking there back ground
He has A B.S - Bachelor of Science, MA - Masters and A - PHD From North Texas University
He has been a board certified Clinical Phychologist since 1978

I was half-asleep at the time probably. I bet that's what they were disproving. Whoops...
Thanks, half-pint!

I still don't care for the man, though.
