Gail, that's awesome about the scale
Sounds like you had some yummies this weekend!
Renee, did ya go to Curves today? I got back not too long ago, but I had to skip the squat machine. I started having this bad pain in my lower back that is especially bad when I bend over. Bradley thinks the squat machine did it, so I'm going to skip it all this week and see what happens. It's a bummer b/c leg work is my favorite!

How's everyone else doing workout-wise?

I'm still a little traumatized being back at work, I had been off for a week. But I think I will try to do my nordic track tonight.

ok gals, I need some motivation. I am having a minor kitty crisis here, its POURING down rain and Brendan has to work on a final for school so he doesn't want tp gym this evening. This is not a good combo for getting me out of the house. I need some positive words of encouragement so that I'll actually go.

There's no better weather for heading to the gym and working out! There's not much else to do, so it only makes sense to head to the gym and get that workout in until the rain slows down!!!! Not only that, but you'll be feeling pumped up while everyone else in town is slugglish from all that rain. There's tons of reasons to go woman!! Now go go go!!!!!!!!!!

Just say "Ill go and do 10 minutes" and chances are you will do more! Plus remember how GOOD it feels when you are done and all worked out. Ahhhh...

There is re-runs on TV tonite!!!!!!!!!
When my lower back bothered me I slept with a flatter pillow under my knees and a heating pad on low on my back. Plus I lay flat on my back and bring my kness up and "hug them" I can feel the stretch in my lower back.
I'm walking outside as it is YES 61 degrees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is a good 15 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year plus its sunny.
So I'll do a walk/run for everyone!!!!!!!!

ok ok, i am going to eat some dinner, see if the "Lilly situation" resolves itself, and then go to the gym this evening after dinner has digested. I may not do my whole lifting set - but I'll get something done.

Gail, thank you for the lower back advice
And it sounds like you had WONDERFUL weather to walk in!
Kathrine, Gail, and Marge- thank you ladies for encouraging Beryl! Sorry I missed the last 2 hours on TCS or I would've done a better job had I seen her earlier post.
Beryl- way to go! You will feel so much better having gone! What's the kitty crisis? Lilly and Ebony better now?

UPDATE:

I went to the gym!!! I spent 35 min. on the stair mill. If you have not used one of these its an AWESOME workout. Its like the stairmaster but instead of only have like two foot pedals, it has actually stairs. Its like walking up a moving staircase.

Thanks to all you for supporting me. Lilly is also doing much better, and I had a yummy dinner (easter leftovers), so I am feeling much better. I must go update my imood now from 'worried' to 'grateful'!!

Hey all. I'm going to take the car from hubby today after lunch and go to the gym.
I might do some weights while I am there. Probably arms and chest. Abs too.

I'll be going to teach my Hardbodies class in about 40 minutes. I think this week I'll change it up a bit though and do less reps and more variation. My style is normally less variation and very high reps. But, teaching this same class for 1.5 years can make it boring, so it's time for a slight change!!

Enjoy your day everyone! It's beautiful out here today, I hope it's just as lovely for everyone else.

I did a 2 mile plus walk/run outside last nite but I was really tired about an hour or so later. I must have pushed myself harder than I thought-or still be really out of shape.
But after that an area about 3-4" above my tailbone was really tender & I slept on a flat pillow as it hurt to lay on the bed. So this morning my back it really stiff and I'm kind of nauseous too. I'll have to see if this improves later today-I took some ibuprofen at 6 am but really didn't do anything.........How frustrating!!

I did my nordic track but only for 10minutes. I have to do more today.
I did do my half hour of walking each day as usual though, I do that at lunch on campus where I work. So that is always consistent.

Yup, I went. I was a little past 2 times around and I got a cramp in my foot. Thats what I get for wearing something besides sneakers for 2 days!
Anyway, I massaged my foot and then finished my workout. My foot didn't stop hurting for at least a half hour though.

Amy, some of the women at our Curves use the squat machine for their calves instead. They just stand on the edge of it and lift and lower their heels. When you start using it again for squats be sure your butt sticks out and your knees never go past your toes. Thats what they tell us anyways. Does the staff pay attention to your technique? If not, you should ask them. There should be someone in the middle all the time. I've noticed the staff at my Curves slacking on that. It is kind of frustrating to me because if I see someone using a machine wrong, I want to help, but don't want to seem like a know-it-all. Besides, having someone in the middle helps motivate me.

Great job EVERYONE for staying so motivated and healthy!!!

Gail, I hope your back starts feeling better!
I'm still having terrible pains in my back. I'm skipping today's workout b/c the pain is horrible (any time I run or walk real fast, this pain takes my breath away). I'll do the heat/ice thing tonight and hopefully can get back to the gym tomorrow. BACK PAIN IS NO FUN!!!!!!! Gail, that is our motto today!

Renee, yup, our Curves does a good job about eyeing our workouts, but they never said anything to me about my squat machine technique. I've been doing fast-paced squats for years, so that machine was the LEAST of my worries. I'm going to talk with them when I go in tomorrow and see if there is a way I can alter my workout to help my back. We'll see.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK EVERYONE!!!!!!!!
