shamelessly taking up air time

Have any of you seen that Sweet Sixteen show on MTV...................
Before i tell you about it I would just like to say that I am only 24, and am not out of touch with teenage life.......but this show is rediculous.........
The one i saw tonight had this girl who was a total brat...she disobeyed her parents at every chance she got...disrespected them, took of for two days without telling them..(mind you she was only 15), and then managed to whine the whole time........She told her parents that she wanted a car, and if they didnt get it for her she would never speak to them again.............
Her parents trying to punish her told her that she wasnt going to get the car...she cried and screemed and called them every name in the book....so guess what....yup they bought her a car, bought her two dresses for her party (one for when she made her enterence and another for when she was just at the party), and on top of which gave her the most elaborate and extravagant party i have ever seen......dresses, car and party came to over 200,000$.... Oh My Freekin God!!!!!!!!!!....what is that...she was a revolting child, and will continue to grow up to be a revolting adult thanks in whole to her parents.......I was so disgusted!!!!

I watched it one night and all I could think was they probably had to find the worse example of a teenager to get more air time. I know many level headed 16 year olds who don't think that the world was created just for them, they hold down jobs, watch their siblings, clean house and still have a social life- Put one of those on the program and what's to watch?

It's like the Apprentice, I really think a lot of that show is contrived, planned and schemed before it is aired.

I agree with Hissy. All shows like that are just tailored to what people want to see. That case is pretty extreme though, they need to dump her in some 3rd world country to see what it's like to live without all her blessings.

lol...now that would be a show that i would watch...I know they have that stupid "Simple Life"...but those girls still got there credit cards.....but dumping some snot nosed socilite in a third world country would be great

National geo has a show like that, or they used to- it was pretty fascinating, but I haven't seen it listed in quite awhile-
