That's stunning, Beth! You should be very proud!!!! We pulled out all the bushes at the side of the house this past fall and have a lot of landscaping to do this spring.

Thanks Chris.

Have fun landscaping your garden. Doing the main bit of ours took about 18 months. During the first winter, we looked out over the garden, which had no lawn and piles of rubble everywhere. No paths, just the outline where they were going to go and rubble as the foundations for them. Hubby looked at me and said "What the h*ll have we done?"
. But once we started building it up, it was much more comforting and satisfying.

Good luck!

Its just like those before and after pictures in BBC Gardener's world!! you should enter it -they always have a small article on before/afters. (I really enjoy the Bristish gardening magazines!) From one avid gardener to another-you have done an awesome job!!

Sonja, Yayi and Tina - thanks so much.

Thanks a lot Gail. If I entered that, I'd have to scoot round and tidy it up after the winter
. It looks a bit sorry for itself at the moment.

Rockcat - pot plant = houseplant i.e. one in a pot. Is that the same?

25 acres!! Wow! I told hubby and he's REALLY jealous. That's his dream. He'd be over like a shot!

Bumping because I'm feeling a little "garden challenged" lately. Plus everyone can look again at the great job Beth and DH did and go ..... ahhhh..... summer is almost here.

I am incredibly jealous. I have no green thumb whatsoever, but I love being outdoors. I can only hope to have a garden one day that looks at gorgeous as yours.

That is a lovely garden. I am so upset because my tenants in London have ruined mine by not looking after it. But I am looking forward to starting again when I move to France! I already have plans. I really like your summer house, and hte way diferent parts of hte garden lead into each other - that is hte mark of a good gardener, never mind whether each plant grows - you can always find something else that will grow. But I see that you have dug it over well before planting, and that is also a sign of care. It is fantastic!
