Are You Introverted Or Extroverted?

I often wonder what kind of ratio we have between introverted and extroverted people, so I thought I'd make a poll. To me it seems like a lot of people on here are extroverted. I would definitely be the introverted type, especially when around a lot of people, but I speak when I want to. When I'm around people more introverted than me I like to keep things going and liven it up when needed. I'm independent and don't favor large crowds, but they don't make me nervous. I don't know where that would put me on a scale though.

Option 3 was a joke because I thought everyone knew what the other two meant.

The third option made me laugh as well!

What does that mean? I have no idea...

Okay... perverted means you have a distorted veiw of something, or that on a given subject, you tend to practice something that is not considered to be right or normal for that particular subject. It can apply to many things, so I will leave it at that.

I want to know who voted for number 3?!

I'm an extrovert. I suppose being a receptionist helps because i have to speak to people, but i can strike up a conversation with anyone.

I am actually introverted with extroverted tendencies.

Hmmm... come to think of it, that is sort of a perversion given my definition.

I think if you check the Jungian definitions of Introvert and Extrovert, you'll find that essentially the difference is seen in where you get your energy. If you need to be among people to recharge, you're an extrovert; if you need to get away from crowds and have time to yourself, in order to recharge, you're an introvert.

I like people, but recharging happens in solitude or something close to it: I'm an introvert.

I'm half and half...though I doubt the folks who read IMO will believe that. I chalk it up to my bipolar brain.

I think I'm introverted by nature, but extroverted by occupation (receptionist/front desk).

I'm most definately an introvert!

Susan, if you look at the poll, on the right where the number of votes per line is, if you click on that number it will show you who voted for what choices.

Me three!! Like it was stated earlier -- I need to be away from groups of people to recharge and I enjoy social gatherings with few people like enjoying a cup of coffee, going to see a movie, or shopping. I don't like bars, and clubs, and noisy social activities. So I consider myself an introvert.

But by occupation (teacher) i could be considered an extrovert and to many, on the surface I may appear extroverted. I don't have trouble talking or speakig up, and I can handle speaking to large groups of people.

But on the Myers-Briggs personality surveys I always come up introverted. That is just my nature.

I'm definitely an introvert.

I'm definitely introverted, but I can get kind of extroverted at times.

I know what that means! I mean the other options! Sorry I didn't explain better before.
