Ok, so I have a bad circulation and get cold easily....one winter, I was telling my mom that I should have gone to university somewhere warmer...
I said "Wouldn't it be great if I were going to the University of New Mexico or something?"
And my mom replied "Yeah! Then, we could pay your tuition in pesos!"
Um, I said New Mexico, Momma, NEW Mexico......LOL!

Hey, sometimes us MOMS are slow on the pick-up. The older I get, the more confused and befuddled I get! Give your mom a hug for me, okay?

Fwan: New Mexico is in America, not Mexico....which is why it's funny (can't pay with pesos in america)

And "New England" is the term we use for the area of the frist colonized states in america.... those near the top of the "arm/head" sticking up on the right hand side of map.

Leli, you would think, wouldn't you? But, actually, you'll find many people on this site pretty tough when it comes to telling a joke. Whenever I post my joke for the day, I always have to explain it!

I know what you mean. Living where I do in Wisconsin so close to the UP (Upper Pensinula of Michigan) we just take for granted people know what we are taking about when we talk about the UP-they should have just made it a part of Wisconsin way back when statehood rolled around!! I mean my sister years ago said what's the UP?? I mean come on you grew up in Wisconsin just like I did!!
