So far out in left field I got lost
in my mailbox was a card for The Sammycat with a certifed return required signature. So I bop down to the post office to pick it up. It turns out that he won a free years worth of Hill's Science diet cat food
from when I had entered his picture in the Halloween Pet Superstar contest. You go Big Boy! I was afraid that I was going to have to take him in his carrier to the post office, let them ink his paw and then let him sign for his letter in order for me to pick it up for him

I would have felt sorry for the person inking his paw though cause it would have been looking like hamburger when The Sammycat got through shredding it

At the kitty's beck and call
Congratulations Sammycat - don't worry if getting through those bags gets too much for you - I've two vacuum cleaner cats who'd be more than happy to help if you get full up

, Sammycat! I love the look on our mail carrier's face when Jamie gets birthday or Christmas cards, or sometimes a package, addressed to him. The first time it happened, the poor guy rang our bell to ask if the card (from his brothers' meowmy) was wrongly addressed.

Here ya go! The picture that was entered in the Halloween contest. I am proud to say that The Sammycat will be sharing his treasure with Oscar. We can get up to 20lbs a month for a whole year

Cathi, the picture is wonderful. Up to 20 lbs.? Is that canned, or dry, or both? Our neighbor's cat won a year's supply of Hill's diet dry a few years ago, after dropping about 1/3 of her body weight in a year's time. She's maintained 21 -22 lbs. for about three years now, and is still overweight, but no longer hugely fat. (No, I'm not joking; I thought she'd make the Guinness Book of World Records, but there have been fatter cats, unfortunately). There's an annual "Hill's Science Diet Light" contest here, and the canine and feline winners and runners-up get their pictures in pet magazines, and a year's supply of food. It has certainly worked for Putzi!

As far as I knew by the end of the contest he did lose to a dog. That is why I was so shocked when he got this letter with all the coupons in it.

Thank god it wasn't a certified letter from the IRS for an audit..that would have been scary. I mean a lot of us think the country is going to hell in a handbasket...that would have been proof!

Dear Mr. Sammycat:

It has come to our attention that you took a rather large deduction for diet kibble. We regret to inform you that diet kibble is not an allowable medical deduction, nor is Da Bird an allowable deduction for medically approved exercise equipment...
