Here in Canada Ragdolls start at $750 for pet quality and you can get a Siamese for $200-$250.

Just wanted to say that I've been doing research on Ragdolls and I know that the price range is usually between $500-$700. Personally, I would play closer to $600.

I believe Birmans are about the same price.

Good luck with your hunt!

go to www.petfinder.org and do a pet search there for the cat you are looking for . Believe it or not they do have lots of pedigree cats that are thrown away and available for adoption. I have seem many siamese in my area and some persians. You can also contact the breeders of these type of cats and ask for an older fixed cat, they will sell them cheaper. I also like the Main coon cat and have seen them at petfinder and at petshows for $300. Good luck and think about petfinder to give a unwanted animal a home. catlover

Pinkdaisy - I was just kidding re the exchange rate between Canadian and US currency although it's not nearly as bad as it used to be since our dollar has been steadily rising. Not a problem. I'm sure the prices will vary greatly from one area to the next and agree that the best way to get pricing is to check out breeders in your own area.

I am not sure about the modern style of Siamese, but on average, the pet price for a Traditional Siamese is commonly $350-$600...usually close to the $500 mark. Traditional Balinese usually go between $500-$700. These are general prices for CFA registered kitties. Hope this helps!

Wow, cats are expensive in the US. In Canada a Traditional/Applehead pet Siamese goes between $200-$300 Cdn.

Bijou cost us $175 and Mika was $200

why buy a cat when there are plenty of cats that need a home in shelters all across the nation?? you will be saving a life and You can safe a bunch of money. Most shelters only ask for the cost of neutering or a small adoption fee. I'd give those cats a chance first.

I paid $550.00 for my male Ragdoll and $525.00 for my Female Ragdoll. I got a break on my Female because I purchased from the same Breeder she was $575.00. I agree some of the Best Cats are the ones who are being given away or are looking to be adopted from a shelter. It's like they are know how lucky they are to find a good home and spend their entire lives letting you love them for it.
