BOTH of those were made when WALT Disney was alive and he would never harm an animal. Even in OLD YELLER he changed the ending and made the dog attack rather than just have it killed immediately as the book did.

SINCE he died they make movies like Return to Snowy River where instead of using trick photography they actually tripped the horse causing it to somersault down the hill. When it got to the bottom it was so badly injured they had to kill it! Since then I may watch Disney on tv OCCAISONALLY but I wont buy Disney products.

I didn't know that! Where was the ASPCA? Aren't they suppose to monitor all use of animals during filming?

"Mary Poppins" is on TV here Monday night - now I just have to watch it! It's now a musical showing in London - apparently it's a bit "darker" than the movie.

It was made in Austrailia! NO animal protection over there! NOW when I see an animal movie I check to see where it is made!

I don't like animated disney movies, they were always dark and sad to me as a kid, I despised watching them, still do. But I did like Mary Poppins, although it felt like it took forever and a day to watch it, LOL. I love their clothes though, and Julie Andrews with Dick Clark.

its funny, my husband and I were just talking the other night about how great the story of Mary Poppins really is...so, yeah definitely another vote for me on that one

but I do think that the little mermaid is possibly the best animated disney musical

It was my grandfathers home too! I am part Austrailian! I had no idea there was an Rspca there as they did not supervise that movie but in all fairness it WAS an accident!

I do appologise to you and it IS good to know animals are protected BUT what about the cat fence and those who wear cat skin hats?
