The vet said he think it may just be hairballs...he was a really great doctor, he was really good with him. I was so upset that I cried the whole way home before I picked him, and as soon as I walked in, he came right up to me and starting purring. But, I could tell he'd been sick all morning if you know what I mean.
Anyway, they gave me some Laxatone for his paw that I have to give him morning and night, and I have to change his food because of his weight also. I feel much better, but I just want to get him home now and make sure he can eat normally. I'll keep you all posted...but keep sending those vibes because we are not out of the woods until he is 100%. BTW, he is in a little jail right now and they are keeping a close eye on him. I miss himand I want to go hold him right now....

I am very scared though, the vet didn't run any tests, just put some of that stuff on his paw and said he'll be ok. I am second guessing now, or maybe I am just a worrywart
Candie that is the same thing The Sammycat is on. Mittens will be fine, I know it scared the cr@p out of you

Cathi--was he having the same symptoms as Mittens? What if he still is throwing up?!!? What am I gonna do?
If Mittens has hairballs the Laxatone will help him feel 100% better soon, it eliminates hairballs by acting as a lubricant and a laxative.
I hope your vet is right and I'm sending positive vibes to you and Mittens.

The Sammycat was doing the same thing. Everytime he ate he would throw it up soon after. He was constantly going around and trying to hack up the hairball with no success. Sammy had to spend the night in the vets office where they gave him some nasty chalk-like stuff to get him to pass the hairball. I have to give him the laxatone now just a couple of times a week as he is prone to hairballs more than Oscar. At first it was twice a day for a week or two and I also had to get some of that weight off him.Originally Posted by caprice

Try not to worry Mittens will be okay, Yeah like I am one to talk about trying not to worry. When The Sammycat spent the night at the vet's for this I was up all night long worried to death about my baby boy
We are all sending Mittens get-rid-of-that-hair-ball vibes, especially The Sammycat. He said that he wouldn't wish that chalky stuff on his worst enemy. Give Mittens a rub from me,head bonks from the boys, and a couple of tailwags from the other fur babies too

It sounds like furballs, is Mittens home now? I hope he's OK.
A few months ago my girl Holly was throwing up everywhere and we thought it was hairballs and gave her some furlax but then she started not eating or drinking and she would go toilet all round the house, just as we were about to leave for the vet we noticed she had a shiny looking thing hanging out her butt, I ran over and it was a piece of ribbon, we rang our vet and she told us to pull it out very gently, so we did and I'll be darned there was close to 50 cm of it, no wonder she was feeling so under the weather. We quickly identified who's bit of ribbon it was(mums boyfriends daughter), it's a rule in our house NO ribbon, or ties or string is to be left in 'Paws way', because we had a similar incident to this when Holly was a kitten. But Holly has really fattened up since then!
I don't mean to scare ya btw-

Yikes, Mittens did swallow a piece of ribbon about 2 weeks ago when I was getting that stuff ready for the baby shower...but I didn't notice it until he passed it over course. Hopefully, there is none left in thereOriginally Posted by WellingtonCats

He is doing a lot better today, he was a little playful this morning and he was even eating his new food. I did wake up like at 5 this morning and gave him a little handful, but when I got up at 7, he threw it up. He is drinking water though. Hope he goes to the bathroom today too! I did give him half a cup of food, and by the time I left, he was still holding it down. I am going to have my mom go by and check on him in awhile! Thank you all so much for your best wishes...I hope this gets cleared up this weekend
