Transporting Kitty? Help?

My friend is moving in a few weeks. She's going by bus, and coming back for everything later in the month.

Is there some way she can...ahem..."mail" or "ship" her cat to herself at her new address? Some sort of animal shipping service? I know it sounds odd, but none of her friends are allowed to keep an animal in their homes.

It's a beastly thought, having the poor kitty travel all by herself in the hands of strangers. I don't want to do that to her. I'd rather hide her here at my place, but my friend wants Cindy (the cat) there with her at the new place, so I'm asking for help on this.

Can someone help me out here?

Most airlines will ship the kitty and there are some animal transporters.
