I am concerned about my 4 babes climbing onto the stair railings at home. I am frightened that they will slip off and fall to the bottom of the stairs. They are all indoor cats. When I am at work I keep them contained to two rooms, but when I am at home I like them to have their freedom. They follow me all over the place, which I love, but sometimes go off playing (naturally). Occasionally they jump onto the top of the stair railings and I am finding this a bit scary.

Am I worrying unnecessarily or not??

Is there a way you can get a cat condo and put it near or against the stairs so they can leap on that instead? Or drag a couch or piece of furniture under the stairs they could land on? Cats are just so active, if they want to go that high, give them other alternatives to do so besides the stair railings.

Hmm it is a piece of cat furniture, there are many types out there-

You can see a lot of websites that offer these on this link here:

Some are outrageous, and some are practical. But cats love them!

Meowhoo.com

You might know them as cat trees?

Thank you so much Hissy. I have a couple of trees, but I didn't realise that there was so much to choose from. I have just been browsing the site you gave me and I think "create a condo" is just what they need.
