It does sound like it was the Friskies. Have you tried Fancy Feast? The classic pate flavors contain meat as the first ingredient. I've had great success with Fancy Feast. Keeping him on the chicken and pumpkin for now is a good idea.

I have heard of fancy feasts :) I think I will buy some tomorow , I will wait a few days before intoducing it
Let him recover I'm so upset that such a highly selling brand can cause so many cats te same problem , infact on Facebook I've had a lot of people say their own fur baby's had the very same problem with -friskies and whiskers brand food [emoji]128562[/emoji][emoji]128562[/emoji][emoji]128562[/emoji] how is it still allowed on the market and to say it's the " perfect balance " ... pffff if anything it's completely upset hundreds of cats tummys !
With introducing fancy feast kitten wet food , should I slowly add little amounts of it to the boiled chicken and rice ... ?

Yes, I think adding small portions to the chicken, rice, and pumpkin is perfect. Definitely wait a few days.

Another brand I have had good luck with is Beyond pate wet food.

Let us know how he continues to do. Having a normal poop must be a huge relief for both of you.

I am so glad that we have found and eliminated the problem !
I've bought him some grain free kitten kibble from ivory coats
And will slowly start to try him on that
And will slowly start to introduce fancy wet food after he spends at least 4-5 days on this as he is in recovery now
First 24 runny poo free !

No runny poo :)
He had half a teaspoon of fancy feast kitten food mixed in his chicken and so far so good and I've never seen a cat run so fast to the smell of kitten food hahah poor thing has been on a chicken boiled diet for over 48 hours and I think he has missed the taste of fish [emoji]128514[/emoji]

One week ago he was 508 grams
Today he is 586 grams is that a good gain for a kitten who suffered a few days of very loose stools ? Someone once told me he should gain 100 grams a week

He missed the smell of soft kitten food period! Did you buy the classic chicken pate as well? That was a very good gain for having had diarrhea!

I couldn't find any classic pate food :(
Only one I could find at the supermarket was fancy feast whitefish kitten food which he is doing wonderful on while I'm mixing teaspoon of it in ,
Only thing I've seen is alittle mucus in his poo ,he is off to the vet tomorow for a test for colistis ?
Just to be sure

If he makes a fresh sample, by all means take that! Otherwise the refrigerated sample will do.

The ocean whitefish kitten food is fine!

Update - he went to the vet today
The poo came back all clear of parasites and worms
The vet said it's the food that caused the upset
Put him on 8 days of medication to help stop the runs and settle his belly
Midnight does not like the medication at all .. poor thing has to be wrapped like a baby just to force fed some , but hopefully he will be on the mend now

That's good news, but I thought his poop had become normal again already. What is the medicine the vet gave him?

I know if u give the kitten the milk- kitty milk that they sell in store that will give them the runs. My vet told me that milk doesn't do anything for nourishment or anything just gives them the runs. Hope tht helps.
