Hi everyone. So unfortunetly yesterday while I was seperating two of my cats from fighting eachother, one of them knocked me backwards and I fell on one of my 3 week old kittens named Alaster. I rushed him to the emergency vet clinic. They took x rays and put him on oxygen. They said that it looks like he has a facial injury. Nothing was broken and his lungs looked fine. And since I was denied in care credit and didn't have any funds, they went him home with me, telling me to keep his airways clear and to bottle feed him. This is about 24 hours after the incident and he seemed to be getting better, but around 6pm he started gasping a bit. I quickly cleared his nose and mouth and am watching him sleep. I'm so afraid he might pass away. And I can't help but blame myself for what happened. I should have been more careful. Is there anything you guys can think of to help me keep him alive? I have no money to go to the vet and I just don't want to take the chance of him dying. Ideas?

Some vets will allow a payment plan.. I'm over in Australia so not much use with details but here's a link to one of our articles:

I'm hoping someone with experience will be along soon with more help.

I've found quite a few potential helpers, the 3rd link is a site which lists heaps....

For anyone whose struggling financially, it looks like, but they have a long waiting list:

http://thepetfund.com/for-pet-owners

For people whose income falls below government poverty guidelines, they're based in Nevada:

http://www.shakespeareanimalfund.org/index.php/about-saf/who-qualifies/grant-recipient-guidelines

If you scroll past the NH organisation list, there is a sizeable list of national charities & organisations that give financial aid for sick & injured pets, along with neutering:

I'm actually quite impressed with the amount of charitable pet funds there are in the States.  Here in the UK we only really have the PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals), which is an actual vet hospital organisation for those in receipt of housing benefit (government rent subsidy for low income households).  The PDSA is great but I don't think it fair to only allow people on housing benefit to qualify because that discounts a lot of low income people, homeless people, for example.
