Hi guys. I'm a newbie. My pregnant ragdoll is between day 57 and day 60 just looking for some advice if possible please?
I noticed today she went to the litter box and squatted down for a week but passed a thick green tinged substance. Temp is 37.5c and she's quite today and not eating as much. My main concern for her right now is I haven't seen her drink at all today and I haven't seen her wee. Any reason why she would be refusing water?
Is it something I should be worrying about?
Thankyou for any advice
P.s she's got her milk and she was scanned and we saw 6 potentionally 7 kittens so a large litter

She doesn't have a temp, because cats run a little higher than we do, 99.5-102F. In fact it sounds like she may be a hair under. Thick, green doesn't sound good to me. She may be going into labor, but she still should be drinking. I would definitely call your vet and see what they say, it wouldn't hurt. You might double check the litter box to see if there is any urine there, that is worrisome too. It may be that all these things are common in prelabor, I hope an expert comes on quick!

Thankyou for your quick response. She has just done a small wee in the litter box so I'm pleased about that. I'm keeping a really close eye on her and will ring my vet and see what she thinks. I thought that temp was low enough to indicate labour or would it need to drop lower than that still?
I've tried to add a pic of what I saw her pass, quality may not be great and I don't think you can see the green tinge but it was the consistency of mucus.

Thankyou for your help

The mucose plug is often described as greenish.  So its my guess it was it.  They may lose it hours before the delivery, but it may also be days.

The temp is rather low yes, so its fully possible she has began to drop the temp.   Its quite possible she will be one of those with a early delivery.

Be prepared for  some premature kittens - get home  heating lamps (or even such a brooding IR lamp as they have for newhatched chickens).  goats milk or a good kmr, a small syringe of 1-1,5 ml, glucose sugar = dextrose - if you dont have, some honey.   A scale measuring in grammes.

You may need all these gears even if all are fully developed - with a big litter you will perhaps need to supplement feed someone.

Has her belly dropped?  Looks differently, even smaller??

That said, good you do toalk with your vet.  She may be sick for real, even if she is pregnant.  This with not wanting to drink, and peeing just a little is potentially alarming.

I would say, with a urine bladder squeezed i half she would pee little but often.

Thankyou so much. How would I tell if they are premature? Is it advisable to weigh them if they do come early? This is my first litter so I'm slightly overprotective and trying to keep things stress free for the mum.
She has no other signs of labour right now. She's just a bit quieter and sleeping more than usual and not eating as much. She's just drunk some goats milk, quite a bit so I'm hoping that will help keep her hydrated. How early would be too early for her to have kittens? I thought between days 57-70 were normal for kittens to be born?
Thankyou for all your help

It's always advisable to weigh the kittens daily. Are you a breeder? Do you have a mentor? Do you own the dad as well?

I had planned to do that but upon doing some research I read conflicting advise about not handling the kittens for at least a week. In case of passing my scent onto them and perhaps the mother rejecting them. So my plan was to be a bit hands off for at least a week unless any problems arise.
I am a breeder yes (newbie) this is our first litter and yes I have a mentor
Thankyou for your help.

Definitely stay in close contact with your mentor. Do you own dad too?

Weigh the kittens daily. It's important to know if they are thriving.

Oh yes sorry I do own dad too.
Brilliant thanks for your help it's much appreciated.
All is a bit quiet here so I'm hoping she keeps them cooking for another day or too.
Thankyou again

Almost all breeders, and most rescuers, do weight the kittens daily.  The only exceptions to count, are these VERRY experienced whom see the changes by looking and having them in hand....  So weighting is the main recommendation for all less experienced.

If it seems touchy or in crisis, weight even every 12 hours.

Its a myth momma will reject the kittens. Rabbits may do, but hardly cats.  As said, most rescuers do weigh them too - and they do have stray mommas, even semiferal mommas, no?  If you do it respectfully momma wont mind much. After all, she understands you are trying to help her and her children.  At the same time you have a quick look see, if there are fleas or other problems.

That said, dont overdo the handling.  It may disturb the rythm, may make momma feel a little uncomfortable.  So do what is needed, but dont overdo.   After they are 2 weeks, handle them more, to socialize them in full.

Prematures?  First, they are usually small, say, under 75grammes.  Second, they are scrawny and not fully haired...  If they are much premature, they usually dont survive, but if they dont die in minutes or hours after the delivery (they have underdeveloped lungs), it is worth to fight for it.   You may often win, especielly if they are otherwise healthy.  At this moment we have a tread with 10 teeny weeny prematures.  They seem to thrive and develop nicely.  But the owner was watchful, began to help them directly and asked for advices directly not waiting till it got worse.

Ok, just making sure you know that mom and dad have to be separated. Mom can get pregnant within a week of delivery and without going into heat.

Thankyou. Yes I did know that and they will be kept separate for as long as possible. He has his own quarters.
Well snow is 59days today from the last mating and nothing much to report right now, her temp is 37.1 today and she lost some more gloopy stuff and she has been nesting a little bit. She's drinking and using the litter tray as normal too.
How much weight do cats gain? Snow was 4.0kg on the day of mating and today she is 5.55kg she's put on so much weight and all she does is sleep and eat she's not even playful anymore.
Thankyou

A bit of an update.
Still pregnant although today each time she's been to the litter box she's lost some more mucus, the last one being a pinky colour. Temp was 37.1 today but 37.9 at the vets yesterday. J signs of labour at all apart from that. She's eaten well today and has been sleeping all day.

Are her inner eyelids sticking out?

Her left eye has been watery, which was why we were at the vets yesterday. The bet said it's viral and she has eye drops. Her right eye is fine though. Why do you ask?

It's hard to tell in pictures. But here she is. Pre pregnancy, she has lighter colouring under her eyes Anyway which may make them appear "sticking out"?

No she doesn't have a fever. It's a sign I'm keeping an eye on because of her eye but as of today she seems healthy and happy. Still eating and drinking and using the toilet regularly. She is insured so if anything changes the vets are on standby for me.
