My heart is broken i had to take my poor baby Poppy to be euthanized today, it was the hardest thing i have ever had to do. Poppy was 16 she had kidney disease and a large mass in her stomach no more could be done for her. My tears will never stop falling for you my precious baby. I will love you forever and never forget you. Rest now my precious Angel xxxxxxxxx

I'm so very sorry about Poppy.  She certainly was a beautiful cat with her butterscotch and fudge coat.    After 16 years together, it is so hard to say goodbye to a beloved cat.  You've been through so much together and she has been a part of your life for so long.  But you did the right thing in ending her suffering, no matter how difficult it was for you to do.  It really was one final act of your love for her.

I hope some day you will be able to find comfort in memories of your love for each other.  These are very precious memories indeed of something to be treasured always - the love between an animal and human.

Again, I'm so sorry.

RIP Dear Poppy

I'm so very sorry. Talk comfort in knowing that your Poppy is not longer suffering or in pain. She is running free and playing in the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. You have Poppy perfhaps the greatest gift of love possible today. You put her needs ahead of yours by helping to ease her journey. Take good care of yourself [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

Poppy was a much beloved companion and family member for 16 years, it will take a long time to heal your broken heart. The emptiness it leaves in your heart and your home is soul crushing, her physical presence will be forever missed. The bond you formed with her is strong, so strong not even death will take it from you. Her soul is bonded to yours for the rest of your life. She shared a lifetime with you, one full of love and happiness, all she ever wanted from life. You gave her that, and she will always love you for it. She will always be by your side, on a clear star studded night look to the heavens and you will feel that presence, it is spiritual and so will be forevermore, until your life's journey crosses hers once more and you meet once again. Concentrate on what she meant to you, what she brought into your life. She was meant to be in your life, there is no doubt about that, the love and happiness she brought to that life is priceless. .She would never want to bring you pain, she loves you too much for that, try to celebrate what you two shared. My heart goes out to you, I know how much this hurts, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Thank you for letting us know of this sweet girl, she is at peace now and still sends her love. Take care.....RIP beautiful Poppy, you gave a lifetime of love and happiness to the one who loves you so much, you will be terribly missed and never forgotten. May your dreams be ones of happiness, may you find a warm spot of sun to lie in. Sleep tight, little Princess!

Thank you all so much for your kind words and support. Last night i thought i heard my poppy meowing and i broke down again. My heart is broken but i know i had to let her go. I couldn't watch her suffering anymore.

This morning was very hard for me also i thought i felt her at the bottom of my bed i cried for ages and can not eat, it hurts that much. Poppy's bed is still in the same place at the radiator she loved the heat.

I made the decision to have Poppy cremated and i have picked a lovely little carved box and i am getting her name engraved on the top, this way she will always be with me xxxx

So sorry to hear of your loss. Poppy was a very beautiful girl. These decisions we find ourselves making for our companions always wrench the heart. When we make these choices we question ourselves whethere or not it's the right one, even long after their passing. The best thing you can do now that she's gone is take solace in the fact that you provided her with the best quality life you could. Look back on your time with her knowing she was happy, loving and well cared for and the appreciation she showed you through her purrs, leg rubs and lap warming sessions. You gave her a good life and in return, she gave love, affection and memories for the rest of your life. Your decision in the end prevented further suffering and that is the greatest gift you can give your best friend. They don't deserve to suffer and throughout their lives, we do everything we can to ensure this, even letting theme go to prevent the suffering. You have loved her for her lifetime and because of that, you can cherish her the rest of yours. Parting is never easy, but is part of the process. Our compassion for our furry friends and the love they return is what makes this thing we call life so amazing.

RIP Poppy. Your next journey is sure to be another great chapter written in time!
