For all those that have said goodbye

I saw this video on Facebook earlier and wanted to share it here.
It's a very beautiful, but heart wrenching poem.
I imagine that these words are exactly what my sweet Rita would say to me, if she could.

I lost my beloved cat of 11 years this past week and in the midst of sobbing through this I couldn't help but giggle because it didn't sound at all like my big, feisty Pippin.

He wasn't much for reading moods or using many words. He would have been more like "So long, and thanks for the food. And letting me sleep between your knees. Now I'm off to chase bugs."    

Wow, I was only able to make it to 1:06 minutes - I'll have to watch the rest at another time.

I actually thought I was getting stronger with dealing with the loss of my two babies this past year, but I suppose I will always shed tears for them no matter how long it's been.

This is beautiful, thanks for posting.

I have just found this thread, watched the video, I can't stop crying, I would like to shout out to let the heart crushing pain leave my chest.

Thanks for sharing, I will treasure the words spoken in the video.

I could never say enough, Owner, dearest friend,
to thank you for the love you gave to me, until the end.

I’m sorry that I hurt you by saying my goodbye.
You gave me such a happy home, I lived a happy life.

Of all the pets you might have loved, I’m glad that you chose me.
It’s okay to miss me, for I miss you too.

That is such a touching poem. 

I'd imagine you could even have the PDF printed as a book some companies offer this service. Would be a good gift.

Blurb offers the service in canada but I'm sure other companies offer it as well
