Hey!
This is my 6month old kitten Angus, I noticed a couple of days ago just under his nose a lesion that looked like a graze. He is a often playfighting with our other cat and generally upto mischief! Today it appears a bit darker. I am paranoid that it could be ringworm, What do you think? Or just a healing graze?

Here is a pic! Sorry about his dirty face!

Hi!  I'd say yes it is ringworm because I was at my vet yesterday.  My 11 year old has a spot that looks exactly like that under her eye, and that's what she said.  My baby had a spot in the same place last year but it went away.  I was at the vet because Pretty Girl Lookalike had an eye infection - herpes simplex.  She has been under stress the last two weeks since our 1 1/2 year old Kaley passed over from liver failure.

Dr. Brevard gave me an ointment for her eye and also said to dab some on the ringworm patch right under that eye.  We hope that will heal it because putting ringworm meds so close to her eye isn't optimal and vet didn't want to jump right to a pill that will have side effects for Pretty Girl's whole body.

Hope this helps,

Robyn

Aw so sorry to hear about your young Kaley passing! Such a young age!

Off to the vets we go then! Seem to be living there at the moment with our other cat!

Was the vet confident it would be managed with cream? Been reading a lot into it and paranoid about spores!

She said that if the ointment for the herpes simplex in her eye doesn't get rid of that little ringworm under her eye, she'll give me some miconazole for it - since ringworm is a fungal infection.  It's just that it's so close to her eye, that we'll wait 2 weeks to see if the Neopolydex Ointment takes care of both.  Pretty Girl isn't a big cat and neither of us wants to give her the pill that will effect her whole body when we only have one little patch of ringworm.

Thank you about Kaley.  Dr. Jena feels she was born without some sort of shunt.

Good luck with Angus!
