lazy weekend for me too. I had something with my right foot couldn't bend up on my toes. everything else is good. no sore muscles. I tried to go mon after work but left my sneakers at home. then yesterday we had an ice storm so I stayed home all day. woke up sneezing and feeling cucky so I layed in bed all day dozing and facebooking.

lunchtime today 25 minutes of jogging, squats and other stuff.

I am trying that 250 steps an hour but I don't have a fitbit. I just count my steps. I forgot about it this morning but today from 1 to 4 will try it.

Gym after work=got my sneakers.

Good job everyone!

It's hard to stay motivated at this time of year, isn't it?

One hour of yoga on Tuesday. One hour of yoga and a 90 minute walk on Wednesday.

Just 20 minutes bike ride today.

Do you have a smartphone? Some phones will track your steps. What about an iPod? It tracks mileage, but not steps. It doesn't take long at all to get 250 steps in, much less than people think. Try it!

I like doing the 250 step thing for 9 hours....my biggest problem is trying to remember to get them in from 4-5 and then from 5-6 because I'm home, Rick and I are talking about our day and I'm usually working on dinner prep.

Yesterday was beautiful around here. Sunny and gorgeous. I walked over to the market, got my yeast and some garlic and some gorgeous mushrooms. And then I got Dear Richard a hot sausage sandwich, which he ate as part of his supper last night. I took the long route around because I knew I needed at least 2.5 miles, so I was kind of walking around Fensten's barn to get to where I needed to go (which essentially means that I was zigging and zagging all over the place to get my steps in.

I've got an old phone-I tried fitbit on it but it ate my battery power in hours! I don't have any new gadgets other than Amazon fire but that stays home. I will look into this fitbit thing. The one I had on my phone wasn't tracking my steps. it say I stepped 10 steps when it was only 5 so I don't know if I trust it. But I just count in my head.

My desk is up on blocks and the bottom shelf is shin height. I stand here and put one foot up on the shelf and then down. It makes my thighs burn but I do that a few times every hour. I stand all day. I have trouble sitting and standing. Once I am sitting it hurts my knees to get up so it's easier for me to stay standing or I pace back and forth. I will look into a fit thingy for the heck of it.

Gym last night. 1.75 mile elliptical. then squats, overhead press and chest press. around 75lbs. I notice I take a week or so off and I have to start back at lower weights. my foot is bugging me again. I don't know if it's from running, or walking. My girlfriend gave me the number of a good Phys therapy to try out. I wonder if I have arthritis in the joint or if I just do too much. Makes me angry!

Walked for two hours this afternoon. It was above freezing today for the first time in about 3 weeks.

7C!

That's positively balmy for this time of year!

Friday -

3.5 miles on the treadmill in the morning

2.5 miles walked during lunch (I was going to go for the whole 3 miles, but the snow was flying and the wind was simply wicked. It was nasty out there. January came back with a vengeance!)

8 out of 9 hours with 250 steps (That darn hour between 4 and 5 gets me every time. That's the hour that I come home from work, change my clothes and get into my sweats. And then I start working on dinner. And I completely forget about getting my steps.)

This morning -

4.5 miles on the treadmill -- I was on a roll. It felt good. I was going to shoot for 5, but then I heard Mollipop on the other side of the basement door, screaming for me to let her in the basement. And, well, Miss Pop comes first. So I got off the treadmill and opened the door, and gave Mollipop her morning basement tour.

3.5 miles on the treadmill this morning. (I was going to bag today, but then I forgot I was going to bag today! Got about half-way through my walk and realized that I wasn't going to walk! Now, that's pathetic.

And I ended up with 100,365 steps for the week. It's been a while since I've gotten 100,000 steps in one week, so I will gratefully take each and every one.

@Norachan, thank you. That doesn't happen often.

Monday -

3.5 miles on the treadmill

2.5 miles walked during lunch

9 out of 9 hours with 250 steps

I'll get my steps in today, but that might be it. Rick brought me into work this morning; it's snowing like crazy and the roads are not good already. With the gusty winds and the snow, I doubt I'll walk at lunch.

I sent a message to @JTbo  about a week ago. Hopefully you are ok!!

I did the gym mon and tues night. Monday night 1 hour elliptical and arms/back/abs. My foot is acting up. I did some poking around and found something about bursi. so I have to rest ice and get this sheath thing that has some way of moving the blood around..heat pressure or something..so I have been moving my foot around even though it hurts...said it's bad to keep it still and not enough blood reaches it. so I have to find something to wear on my feet...I am tempted to just wear ballerina shoes but those I can't stand.  They don't make shoes deep enough for my foot. the top part of my foot goes high up where most peoples toes/foot is flat until the ankle..why I can't wear female fancy shoes-they don't make them deep enough to go high enough..hard to explain..

I did 1 hour last night and stretched. I added weights on the abs mon night and this morning I could feel it. so it wasn't too painful but I know I got to get my abs in better shape but I just hate ab exercises..when it cuts off my breathing is why I HATE them. but I will keep moving around..considering how cold and yucky it's been this winter I feel pretty good except for my foot. so that's the other issue-my shoe isn't deep enough to add an insert because my foot won't fit in the shoe. I used to buy 2 sizes up just so I can get my foot in the shoe but then my toes move around too much. I tell you I have club feet and the only thing that fits are work boots..I see everyone at the gym with their fancy colorful shoes and  I just can't find any that fit properly...I sure miss American made shoes..since the past 20 years they are thinner and flimsy...feet are a pain!

JTBO I hope you are ok...And @Tammat  hope you are doing well...everyone else you are doing great!

@Winchester  I started trying to do 250 steps an hour..Monday I got 3 out of 8 hours with 200 steps each..it's a really good idea. 250 steps for me is a walk up and down the shop floor. I should be able to do it. Just people think it's weird because I rarely leave my corner...when spring gets here I will go back to walking outside like I used to 10 years ago...but we don't get spring here..it's winter then hot hot summer!!

I worry about JTbo sometimes because of his shoulder. I hope he's OK. Tammat, too!

Kudos, foxxycat! Keep it up!

Well, I took a break today. From exercising. I was off work, but I was walking all over the kitchen and then the house. I managed to get 9 out of 9 hours with 250 steps. I vacuumed, I dusted, did 3 loads of laundry, scooped boxes twice, took all the trash out and down to the road, etc. There were a lot of steps involved (but I don't think enough to negate the damage done from eating the cookies that I made).

Hopefully they are just taking a break and will be back with us soon.

30 minutes on my bike yesterday.

I got up early this morning and walked for just over an hour. I have to admit that 6.30 is not really my best time of day, but seeing the sun come up and turn all the snow covered mountains pink almost made it worth it.

Off to work now, that will be another 30 minutes bike ride.

Looks like I am in doodoo. Ugg. nothing worse than foot pain!! And tylonel don't do you know what! looks like tonight is coke n rum night lol.

Remember my foot issue? Well I have to find a foot doctor. Looks like I have a bunion forming-I have tried my darnest to get good fitting shoes-they rub against the side and of course too long so my toes have issues...I seriously HATE not being able to find good shoes. I have to take a trip to mass to that foot store that has inserts..and the doctor. And buy more shoes. I bought 2 new pairs of sneakers and guess what 30 min later my feet are screaming get those off! The insoles have no padding! this is sneaky of shoe makers! they already charge $90+ for a decent pair of sneakers..and I can feel the floor right through like it's nothing.

I am still doing my workouts but I make sure my foot isn't moving all over the place. I took last night off. iced the foot. feels better today but looks like it will be one of those things that will always be there so the goal of marathoning on the elliptical machine to burn calories is out. So today at lunch-going to resume my boxing sessions. I may not be able to move my feet but I sure am not going to take this laying down.

And I found out I can work my abs daily. I don't have to rest them. I was up to 20 lb on that ab machine so tonight gonna aim for 30lbs. My buddy is up to 130lbs!

Tonight I will do my weights and try the bike again. I don't think it will matter because of my foot having to tilt back and forth to pedal. I grabbed shoes #5 that I have. Gonna try those. I tell you this is so annoying. And of course my eating. I don't know how you ladies do it. I have stopped fast food eating. add veggies but still want my crackers and chips...keep going everyone!

gym last night. went slow on ellit thingy and pay attention to how my foot moves. the different sneakers gave me more room inside. but I keep moving my ankles inward and toes outward. had to force my feet straight ahead. didn't have too much discomfort. stretched after. even my feet. bent them back and forth and side to side..really helped..maybe the muscle is cramped.

worked arms and abs and back. want to go back tonight but my feet are hurting already. got to review my diet and eliminate salt to see if that makes a difference. The best part last night was doing 6 reps at 120 lb for lat pull down..i started at 55 and just worked my way up. ab machine  30lbs. and rows only 85 but good enough.
