We have kittens!!!!

Sorry for the delay in response....my little Tofu had 5 beautiful and healthy babies!!!!!

She wanted out of the kitchen so I ended up letting her out and she ran straight for my bedroom...so I opened the door and my bed is a futon mattress on the floor and I have this magnificent comforter my daughter gave me for Christmas. Tofu crawled under the comforter and she stopped crying. I puffed up the comforter so I could see her but it was still dark and secret for her and she crawled to my hand and we were holding hands while she purred through the contractions. She rubbed her head a lot on my hand too.

But then all hell broke loose...

She started panicking and left the bed and was trying to hide all over the room. She finally came back to my bed and she started screaming and her first baby was born at 12:03 am. Here is the birth order:

#1 - 12:03 am (orange tabby) weighs 114 grams

#2 - 12:13 am (black possibly calico because there's red spots maybe) weighs 116 grams

#3 - 12:25 am (black and grey tabby) weighs 128 grams

#4 - 12:55 am (orange tabby) weighs 124 grams

#5 - 1:16 am (orange tabby) weighs 128 grams

When she had the first baby she ran away and wouldn't deal with it. When she finally came back, she started trying to bite the kitten. So I removed her from mom and took care of her umbilical cord myself. When she had her second baby she left it as well so I did the placenta for that one as well. The third baby she started to run around the room with the baby still attached to the placenta inside her. I put the first two kittens in the nesting box and calmed her down and helped her back to the bed and we safely delivered number three. And then she started acting like a mom from that point. She hopped in the nesting box and I moved her third baby in there with them and she had the rest of her babies in the box. It was so stressful I'm not gonna lie. I was pretty scared for her but she got through it and I'm proud of her.

She's a pretty small cat so I'm inclined to think she's under a year old. Would that be why she was freaking out at first and didn't want to be a mom?

I will post pics in the morning when they don't look so much like little rats lol.

Thank you to everyone here for all your kind words, help and advice it was much appreciated

Congratulations! You handled it like a pro!

The weights are very good. Make sure all kittens are latching and nursing well. Young moms are often overwhelmed by the birthing process and tend to panic. You being there helped your cat immensely.

Thank you all for your kind words. The kittens are doing great and momma is doing an excellent job of being a mom. Hardly ever hear the babies cry and she leaves them in a nice warm heap a few times a day to come and socialize with us. Everyone is gaining weight steadily except the grey and black striped tabby. He only gained 8 grams the first day but he's gained 24 grams in his second day. He was one of the biggest so is that okay? I'm keeping my eye on him. The kittens have been sexed and she had 3 boys and 2 girls. And she had them in boy, girl, boy, girl, boy order too lol. Momma cat is eating well and has regained her girlish figure already. She has bowls of kitten chow, adult food, wet food, and kitten milk, and water in several rooms to keep her strength up. Here are some pics of the babies:
