Hi! My cat has this funny nose scab that she gets intermittently, often in the winter. When she was a kitten, she had a solid, pale pink nose, then got this little sore when she was about 2. I thought it was just a little bug bite and surely enough, the scab went away, but it left a black freckle behind. Since then, it scabs over a couple times a year, but the freckle never goes away. It doesn't seem painful and she doesn't lick or paw it. I'm not terribly worried about it, just curious. Thoughts?

I'm sorry no one has responded so far.  I don't really have any ideas on what this might be, but have you ever asked your Vet?  Perhaps they could do a biopsy on it, just to make sure it's nothing, since it scabs up every now and then.

It is quite strange! She never seems to have it when I take her to the vet, so I've never had it properly examined. Next time it gets scabby, I definitely will.

Even if it's not in a scabby stage when you have a regular Vet visit, the spot is always there, right?  I would simply discuss it with your Vet and tell them what happens and let them take it from there.
