Hi. I bought some new toys today and we were playing with a laser pointer. Oliver was going nuts chasing it. Then he suddenly stopped and just stood there not moving. I picked him up and he still wasn't moving or talking. We put out treats and he ignored them. Now he is laying down resting and seems ok. Have you ever experienced something like that? Now I'm worried
I'll be watching to see if he needs to go to the vet. Could it be the catnip on the toys?

Hi

It doesn't sound abnormal, just a little unusual but some cats get bored with play.  Has he always been a playful cat? Any other symptoms?  Also if this is the first tie you are using a laser pointer note that some cats get frustrated with it because they can never catch the dot.

StephenQ is probably right but keep an eye on him to see if it happens again. Take note of everything, breathing patterns; whether limbs become rigid, body ticks, eye dilation, salivation, muscle twitching and take note of the duration to that you can tell the vet in case there is anything neurological happening.
