I am going to suggest this to my local Humane Society.

Makes me think of my uncle, while he was the county Sherrif, his house burned w/his cat in it. He went in and rescued the cat out of the fire, and brought him out. When he came out, he called for oxygen to be brought to him, so the medics were told that "the sherrif needs oxygen", needless to say, they wasted no time getting it to him, and he immediately put it on the cat ! (And still claims to this day that he hates cats. )

cool . I saw an animal ambulance the other day, it was all set up as a mobile intensive care unit, with red lights and everything. I'm assuming they have the same right of way as human ambulances.

I saw that on CNN yesterday. They said the department purchased 3 units at a cost of $300, and they will be required equipment on all residential fire calls. They even showed it demonstrated....the dog was OK with it, the hamster was squirmy (his whole head was in the oxygen mask!), and the firemen got scratched by the cat! LOL

Sounds like my DAD!!! He CLAIMS to HATE cats but really he ADORES cats (loves all animals) and would do things to help cats. While I was growing up, often he'd come looking into my bedroom for a cat to pet/tease.. Often, I caught him kneeling next to a computer chair while working on the computer because Rusty (cat) would be sleeping in the chair and he didn't want to disturb her!

Whenever I call home now, I always ask how the cats are doing and Dad would start whining, complaining about how dumb and brain dead the cats are and tell me that I HAVE to take the cats back (which I can't!! Since I live in DC and they live in Utah!!)..

He CAN'T sleep without a cat now! If Rusty or Sammy doesn't sleep with him, he doesn't sleep as well. He WON'T admit that but my mom and sister can tell the difference!

I think it's AWESOME that now they will be carrying oxygen for animals! HOPEFULLY that will spread worldwide..
