Happy Monday... hope all of you who had to set the clocks back this weekend are adjusting.
Especially you poor people with young kids who haven't realized the glories of an extra hour of sleep. My cats can deal.  The kids; not so much.

When were the first and last times you flew on an airplane?

I flew for the first time when I was about 2.  My mother and Grandmother took me to Disney.  I remember a little bit about the plane.  The last time I flew was in 2007 when I took a trip to visit my Grandparents.  I usually drive up with DH or my mother; but one of my Grandmothers wasn't doing well so my Dad bought me tickets for the short flight so I wouldn't have to do the drive alone.

First time was going to Fort Lauderdale in my early 20's.

Last time, was going to Miami to catch a cruise ship to the Western Caribbean.

And that was too long ago. We need a vacation!

The first time I flew on an airplane I was 4 years old on my way to my father's new post in Pakistan.  I became violently airsick and threw up everywhere, to the dismay of my fellow passengers.  Even so, I thought it was the most magical experience ever though I doubt they thought so.

I think the first time we were going to Florida. It was the mid 70's and all I remember is my older brother using the barf bags.

Last time was in 2003 for my niece and nephew's baptism in NY.

First time was in 1970, a small Cessna 172. The owner let me fly it a bit, too.  The first time in a commercial plane was 1971, on my way to Orlando for boot camp.

The last time was in 2000. I went to Ontario, California and back. With a Mexican Riviera cruise in between. Thank you again, brother. All the flights he booked for me, he got me the window seat by the wings where I could watch the engines and wings flex. I asked  him to.

I am not afraid of flying, just TSA agents.

I got to go up in a helicopter when I was a kid, probably 10 or so.  Some event sponsored by the church we went to.  First flight in a real plane was probably in my teens, going to see my grandparents in Seattle, WA, from southern CA.

Last time was last Monday, flying home from a trip to Cuba.

First time: October 3, 1997, ORD > PHL (Chicago to Philadelphia). I was meeting some friends from a M*A*S*H fan page. I'm still friends with two of those people to this day. Hard to believe I've known them almost half my life! Mind you, this was before having a cell phone was the norm - none of us had one. I only knew what the one guy looked like too (the one picking me up at the airport).

Last time: October 3, 2015 (wow, ironic), PDX > ORD (Portland, OR, to Chicago). We were coming home from our vacation last year. It's a little bit bittersweet for me, because I was having bad feelings all year long with regards to my kitty. Then was very nervous about going on this trip. Lucky got sick at the end of October last year. My mom told me how he refused to take his pill one time while I was gone... I still wonder about whether or not something would have shown then. Ah well, I digress. It was a fun trip, I do need to go back one day.

I'll have to ask my mom if we ever went anywhere when i was too little to remember, but I don't think so. I think I was 6 the first time, but it was a doozy---all the way to Japan! That was when my dad got stationed in Japan, with the Navy. Back then they let little kids go visit the pilot and get your wings, and they gave out a bunch of toys and we got fancy meals. . .it's a little different now! After that we flew all the time. To Okinawa, back to the States, etc. At least once or twice a year so I've lost count. Most of the time we flew space-available on military cargo planes, so that was interesting. They only pay for a commercial flight at the beginning and end of your deployment. I always got airsick but not ON the plane, only after when we were walking on the gangplank thing to the terminal. I eventually leaned to bring a barf bag with me as I got off the plane, that pretty much took care of the messy problem.

The last time I flew was a couple years ago to Florida. My parents have a reunion every year in Orlando, they don't go every year but most years they try to go, and sometimes I go with them if I can gett off work. Orlando in July is not that great :/, but at least I can go somewhere different!

I don't even remember the first time I flew.  But I grew up flying with my dad, and actually got my private pilot's license on my 16th birthday.  Didn't get the driver's license till the next week, so I could legally fly before I could legally drive.  That sort of stuff happens when your dad is the Chief Instructor at one of the best flight schools in the world (literally...we got most of the UAE princes there, as well as military guys from Germany and Norway, and all over the  place).  I flew regularly until Dad retired, and I couldn't afford the plane rental to keep my license current.  I STILL regret that.  Last time was my elder spawn's wedding in Las Vegas.  The bride's dad flew us out there and paid for accommodations for the entire wedding party at the Paris Las Vegas.

September 2009 was the last time I flew when Jon's brother was dying. I flew home in first class from Atlanta to NH because I was so irritated with coach. we stood in line waiting 50 minutes to get to our seats due to everyone cramming overhead bags. I only had a backpack. I check my bags. I couldn't see lugging stuff on and off. That's what the ticket price is for...I was so irritated from Fort Lauderdale to Atlanta that when I landed I asked for a change from coach to 1st class. It was worth every penny.

Next time I fly I will fly Business express. I hear it's easier to get on and off...nothing worse than a full bladder and can't get to the potty due to everyone in the way...we had our own bathroom in first class I think or maybe it was inbetween...either way I much prefer 1st class. more room. Quieter. Free drink!

I haven't flown since.

The first time I flew was in the 1990s when my ex and I used to fly to the Races in Charolotte NC and Atlanta GA. my fav part is renting a car-grabbing a map book and finding any body of water..lake/sea pond whatever...I am pretty independent...

I absolutely love Flying. The closer to the engines or back of the plane the better off. Where the power is and the views. If I could fly a plane I would absolutely love it. Jon's dad taught him how to fly. He used to work in the air business-he flew north to some small town in Maine then flew back to Beverly MA on the weekends...lucky guy. My dad went into the airforce because he wanted to fly a jet but for some reason they assigned him elsewhere. I recently found out he's afraid of heights...he took me up in a hellocopter at the Deerfield fair in NH when I was 8? I was scared at first but then I didn't want to come down...yep if it's got power=engine/wheels I am right there.

The one and only time I flew on a plane was when I was 6 years old. My parents took us to their native country to show us off to relatives
I hated the constant ear popping and stale air in the plane. I remember the free peanuts and other things we got from the flight attendents. I even got a little Hello Kitty purse from a TWA flight attendent

Haha, 18 years ago! You definitely wouldn't ike it now. I think they shrink the seats every year. And give you a smaller space to cram your bag. And charge for every single thing. I think it's $50 to check a bag now. Soon they'll be charging for the air, lol. It's so annoying. It's amazing what they've conditioned us to put up with. . .

I WILL NOT fly in a little plane. Those things are just minivans with wings and crash all the time and I don't trust non-professionals to fly. Also no helicopters, nope nope.

I got spoilt because back in the day I was upgraded for free a few times. Best upgrade was first-class on KLM on one of those two-story planes. Me upstairs crossing the Atlantic with only a few other passengers. Hot towels anyone?

First time was on spring break in college, I was so excited.  Fast forward several decades, not so excited anymore, flying is more of a hassle.

Last time was a month ago when our daughter got married.  Also a hassle trying to fit my dress, heels, etc. in carry on luggage but even worse for hubby having to do the same with his suit.

First time was in 1988 - When I was a little baby.  It was to India, then Hong Kong, Tokyo and Hawaii. Traveled to other places later that same year too. Still have that baby passport!

Last time was this past September-October 2016, to Dublin Ireland and back home to Canada.

So many interesting places people have gone!! I think most of my flights have been to some location in Florida. I've taken a couple cruises out of Miami. Oh and to a National Junior Classical League convention in Talahasse I think it was. In August. That may have been the hottest week of my life! :lol3: Everywhere else we have driven. Even if it took 14 hours.
