He did it again

I can't figure out my cat. Now don't get me wrong, he is the best and even this is minor BUT he pee'ed RIGHT outside the box again. I took him to the vet a week ago and everything was fine. And he was using the box. Then this AM I wake up to find wet newspaper RIGHT next to the box, and THEN he used the box again afterwards. I don't get it. I wonder if he is confused cause he lived outside on his own for several months before I adopted him.

Otherwise he seems fine too, very playful. Runs around and is joyful. Does he want attention? I noted it happens when I am gone or asleep.

try tossing the old litter pan out and getting a new one-

Thanks, you know I was thinking of doing that. Cause it's also not really big enough for him. I mean it's not THAT small but the way he covers everything up with so much stuff I think it may bother him that its on the small side.
