Our Beloved Maryam

Thank you so much for asking and caring!  Well, not so great, really.  Losing 3 loved ones in 4 months and then having to try to wrap my mind around the election results and daily nightmares here is pretty daunting, to say the least; but staying busy with work and loving my 3 survivors does keep me going.  I hope you are well.

Just take a deeeeeeeeeep breath "everything will be just fine" my beloved cats are now in a better place watching over me and my other cats are with me .. Enjoy it while you can , don't overthink stuff , start yoga to relaaaax and stay positive ..I know this is such a hard time for you .. Talk to a friend or a family member and remember all the good times you had with your cats _you CAN get through this I believe in you .. Just get your life on the right track again the new "president" will only have 4 (maybe 8) years to "rule" America so don't worry about that

Thank you.  Agree with all except perhaps the last thoughts:  many of us are extremely concerned about this coming administration, for some very troubling reasons.  You'll see, if you read/watch any news, in the coming days and years.  

I'm very sorry for the losses of your babies.  You gave them a life filled with love and happiness.  RIP beautiful angels.  

Yes I know .. I've spent hours watching CNN and other news networks .. The wall and banishing Muslims and Mexicans ..And ALL that drama but what could we possibly do!? Hope and pray for the best

Truly.  But I am a minority in more ways than one, and I am very concerned.  Also I have many friends who have similar personal concerns.  As a lifelong student of world history, also, those of European ancestry would of course look back to the 1930s-40s in Europe and the comparisons are many and obvious.  So in reality, while we may not be able to change the outcome of the election, many of us are very, very concerned.

Every day we hear of something more ominous.  It is a foreboding time here with the bullies threatening and all of the rest of us supporting and encouraging one another.  If people think it's so long ago and in another time and place, and so therefore unreal to them, it is very real to us right now, studying the history of what led up to those events so many think are ancient history.  They happened in the last century, in a so-called civilized society very similar to this one.
