In case the pic cant be seen I'll discribe. One had a slight cut going up yhe center of his nose and the other is worse. Looks raw and wide.
They were last seen at vets apx 1.5 mos ago for reg check up. Had stool blood work revolution all went went well! But very costly and cant afford to do all over again. This was noy there at the time. I'm worried wwhatgat it could be or how to help it heal as they constantly lick their nose. One is apx 7 the other apx 5 both male and only indoor fixed babies. Any ideas or advice is greatly appreciated! Noticed apx 2 days ago

I'd at least email the vet with the picture and ask for advice.

Vets are expensive but a low cost vet is a more affordable option. It's perfectly fine to have a "regular" vet and to also use a low cost vet when needed.

Please be patient for other advice from TCS members. There are members all over the world so not everyone is in the same time zone
Members may read yout post but may not post a response because they simply don't have any advice to give. Your cat's nose issue is understandably making your worried but it's not an emeregncy so just breathe and relax.

I'd agree with @LTS3.

Is there any way you could email the photos to your vet.

And having more than one vet is a good idea, in case one is closed, or for costs, and second opinions, too.

It should not be as costly as your last vet visit, because the Vet should only charge you an exam fee, and any meds given.

(full blood work and Revolution vials are costly.)

I don't know if Vets would use a cream if it can be licked off, so I really don't know what to say.

Are you using metal feeding bowls? or plastic?

Could both of your cats have touched anything with their noses, that was some type of liquid, or substance that would cause a raw looking skin lesion.

How about their food? Has their been any changes in food, or with how they are eating?

Any litter changes?

Any type of plants in your house?

Can you see inside their mouths, and notice if the gums and teeth look and smell okay?

Any sneezing?

I really think they do need a Vet visit, if they both don't improve, but if you call your Vet, then ask about payment plans, too.

I aill e-mail my vet pics. I didn't think it was good to have more than one vet but putting it that way makes sense!
I use metal for food and one of the 3 water dishes is plastic.
I don't think they could have come into contact with chemicals but Charlie hoes under the sink. I'll mLe a list of whats under there in case.
No changes to food except I'm giving a split can of wet a day now because they cry if I don't.
No changes to litter and no plants because they eat them or knock them down.
Not often but every once in a while one or the other will sneeze. They tend to be licking it constantly.
Teeth and gums look healthy and pink. Same kitty breathe as usual.
I just worry because this has never happened before. I know around this time of year I up the Omega-3 due to the heat in the house but it has been so mild here there is no heat. Salty (all black) was harder to notice as he is less kissy than Charlie (black and white) and I'm concerned for their comfort.

Emailing is a good idea. Don't use the plastic bowl anymore, either. Plastic bowls can cause problems for kitties. Do hang in there; there are some really knowledgeable people on this site, and they will help.

The reason I mentioned plastic, was that some members found that their cats became or were allergic to plastic bowls. Had weird chin acne.

Yes, making a list for your Vet would be good, in case there is anything under the sink, that could cause that skin lesion.

It almost looks like your Salty black cat got swiped at, with a paw from Charlie, but then that would be too strange, since both have the similar nose lesions.

When you kiss Charlie, you don't have any type of lipstick on, that you think may cause a reaction.

(I'm just throwing ideas out there, so don't get too worried. I'm pretty sure your vet will know what it is, and has seen it before in other cats.)

A Vet would hopefully know by just looking at your guys, what they actually have.

They have the expertise, and experience to do that, not to mention the vet knowledge and training, to figure it out.

And if it's anything bacterial or fungal, then better the Vet treat it quickly, so that it heals quickly.
