Cat has little fish egg looking bumps on ears

My cat has a lot of little fish egg looking things all over both of his ears. There was nothing there yesterday, but when I got home from work both ears were covered. It sounds like it could be ticks. Does anyone know what this is?

Without seeing pictures, its hard to say. It could be ticks or it could be stick tites, a kind of tiny fleas that really latch on tight. I hope you find out what they are very soon - they cant feel good to your cat!
