Hi, so last week I got a 9 week old kitten and I noticed how she would sometimes make like a pop sound in her mouth or nose. I thought that maybe she got food in her nostrils or something. But recently when she meows it's very hoarse and crackles. Kinda sounds like a old dying cat type of meow. It's not like the high pitched meow every kitten does it's soft and sounds like somethings in her throat. I asked on yahoo what it was and somebody told me it's a upper respiratory infection. I'm really terrified because they said it could be life threatening. What are some products or medicine I can buy to cure her?

She needs to be seen by a vet who will diagnose the type of upper respiratory infection and prescribe accordingly. A 9-week-old kitten is very vulnerable, so please don't waste time trying to treat it yourself.

It could be a URI, but it could be something else.  I too, would get a vet's professional opinion.  They can listen to her lungs and heart and make a proper diagnosis.  Don't rely on internet opinions in regards to health issues.  May turn out to be nothing to be alarmed about but it could be serious.  With a 9 week old kitten I would not chance it.
