definitely, sardines are perfect for omega 3. My crowd doesn't like raw fish for some reason
, but Oberon and Sassy Josephine love cooked salmon skin and belly fat.

I agree that fish should be a treat at most for cats. Lots of food  has some fish in it and many of the commercial raw/freeze dried raw have it.  Very frustrating.

The Little Big Cat article sounds plausible until she goes on and on about the radiation from Fukishima. That makes me wonder about everything else she says. I realize for me, the U.S. based hysteria on radiation from Fukishima is a personal irritation because evidence shows that it hasn't been an issue for the West Coast. It truly continues to be a big issue for Japan, just not the West Coast.

Tons of internet hooey stories abound that are designed to have "truthiness" and scare people and that stuff gets shared a lot. So the Little Big Cat author seems really quacky.

They hyperthyroid link seems very plausible.

This is a great, balanced article about fish in the diet[article="31650"]Can I Feed My Cat A Fish Based Or Fish Flavored Diet  [/article]

I really like Dr. Hofve who wrote the article in Little Big Cat and respect her opinions on many things but I also disagree with some of what she's saying. It's worth mentioning that she supports alternative treatments and homeopathy. Now, I'm all about an evidence-based scientific approach so I don't always see eye to eye with Dr. Hofve when it comes to health and nutrition. She's a great lady though and is one of the experts we asked for behavior tips in the  [article="33503"]16 Top Cat Experts Share Tips For Dealing With Timid Cats[/article]  article.

Thanks @Columbine  for linking to our article about fish-based diets. I try to bring balanced evidence-based veterinary information in our articles so I stand behind that one
