Happy Labor Day to those of you in the US!

We may have used this question but eh; there are always new people to participate right?

What are/were your Grandmother and Great-Grandmother's names?

My Grandmothers were/are Harriet and Jane.  My Great Grandmothers were Helen, Mary, Elizabeth, and Faustina.

This is embarrassing, but the only name I know for sure was my mum's mother. Her name was Elisabeth but she went by the name Bessie.

The rest of them died a long time before I was born, I don't think I've even seen photo's of them.

All of my grandparents immigrated from Germany, so most history is still over there. One day I hope to find out my linage, my parents and grandparents never seemed to want to talk about it.

My grandmother was killed in a car accident before I was ever born, so I never knew her; her name was Isobelle. My great-grandmother adopted my mom, so she was both grandmother and great-grandmother to me (not to mention the fact that she was a pretty great grandma in her own right
...period); her name was Florence.

I don't really know my paternal grandmother's name. She had been dead for so long til I was born and I have no idea. Dad didn't talk much about his parents. I do know that she was Cherokee, but that's all I know. I do have a genealogical(sp?) book around here somewhere and I should probably look it up. It's in the book. I know that my paternal ancestors came to America on a ship called the Loyal Judith.

My Grandmother's names were Etta and Caroline.  My father's mother died when he was 18 months old and he was raised by an Aunt, her first name was Ida.  I only know one great Grandmother's name and it was Mary Catherine.

I am aware of both my grandmothers names. My maternal grandmother died when I was 2 years old. My paternal grandmother died in childbirth when my dad was around 4 years old..

Veronica (maternal) and Stella (paternal)   Grandparents  immigrated from Poland, so I do not know their parents names..

Helen (dad's) and Clara (mom's)

Great grandmothers? I have no idea of their names.  I believe both never made it to the USA from Russia.

My grandmothers were Margaret and Alice. One maternal great grandmother was named Sarah (Sally), but I don't recall any others.

My grandmas are/were Fern (m) and Elizabeth called Betty (p). Fern's mom was named Dorothea called Dot. I don't know my maternal grandpa's mom's name. My paternal grandpa's parents were Arthur and Eva. I don't think my dad knew his maternal grandparents.

My grandmothers were Maud and Argie. I only remember the names of one great grandmother off the top of my head,  Harriet Aurelia, and one great great grandmother, Elizabeth Ann. They both were very interesting people. I have photos of them and many, many stories that have been passed down.

Maternal

Grandmother:  Blonnie  (don't ask....there were 14 of them, all with odd names)

Great Grandmother: Mary Elizabeth

Paternal

Grandmother:  Elizabeth Neill (this was her actual middle name, NOT her maiden name.  It's a southern thing, to give girls the surnames in the parent's family tree)

Great Grandmother:  Mary Betty, although I'm willing to bet she was actually "Mary Elizabeth,"

I have gotten both side of the family as far back as the 1500s to date.
