Hey guys! I have an 8ish week old kitten that was a stray come into my rescue. I have had him about a week and she was wormed with Panacur. Well I noticed that his belly was very round and firm the last couple of days, so I gave him an extra dose of Panacur because my vet told me it was gentle enough and it would be ok. I haven't noticed him pooping at all, do you think he could just be constipated? And what could cause that? I feed Purina One Kitten Chow and Fancy Feast canned kitten food. I separated him to a separate room to monitor  him- its hard to track the poop when you have a lot of cats in the house! He has been in there a day and a half and no poop yet! So tonight I added some olive oil to his wet food because I was told that helps with constipation. My question being do you guys think that is all that is wrong or should I make a vet visit?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I'd take him to the vet to see what's going on.  Have you tried taking a paper towel  moistened with warm water and lightly dabbing his rear (like a mom cat?) He might need some young kitten encouragement.

The hard belly would concern me.

It sounds like constipation to me. If the oil does not work, you can use infant glycerin suppositories. Cut a tiny sliver and insert it. It should bring on a poop in about 10-15 minutes. If not, try again with another sliver. It usually works! Tummy massage helps too.

have you been able to keep a track on how much he has been drinking? I know he's having wet food, but sometimes a big drink will help. if he doesn't seem to drink from a bowl, try a cat fountain, if not then a  slow tap. It does sound as though a trip to the vet might be in order though. If he won't drink at all, and he is dehydrated (pull up his skin as iff you are scruffing him and if it takes more than a second or so to go back he is.) then you can try making a chickeny soup, or if he is REALLY fussy, scrape jelly off of the cat food he likes to see if he will take that instead.
