Since this morning I have had very itchy and red eyes... very. And my sight hurts.

This evening I had a few OTC eye drops, but after a while when I felt fine again, I was really bad again. It hurts again.

My parents are very worried... and I presume that if tomorrow it is still like that I will land head first in the doctor's office. When you are legally blind without eyeglasses, guess the only person that doesn't break into cold sweat when you say your eyes hurt is you.

They have been asking me if I have been with someone else with red eyes at the moment. I don't know... I don't remember anybody like that.

Has anybody got any suggestions, vibes, or ideas?

Perhaps you have conjuncitivitis?

See a doctor, they will give you an antibiotic cream to put in your eyes for 7 days.

Ekk if you have conjunctivitis, then don't touch your eyes anymore and don't let anyone touch them. It can be contagious.

If it's not conjunctivitis it's probably allergies. I've seen you post before about bad allergies. I have them too. My doctor gives me a prescription eye drop specifically for allergies. Can't remember the name of it right now. Haven't needed them for awhile!

Patanol works great for my allergy eyes. But it sounds like you might have conjunctivitis...best to see a doc ASAP, and be sure to wash your hands frequently - it is VERY contagious, if that's what it is. Be sure to change your bedding & towels frequently, and clean the doorknobs & things that are touched often around the house, or you can get reinfected.

Conjunctivitis?

Well, here in Puerto Rico just recently there was a scandal that "conjuntivitis" as its called in Spanish, has reached almost epidemic levels. So, there were a lot of precautions, being carried in the news. Up to my understanding it has gone down from epidemic levels.

Well, I've still got them like that.... Think I will end up in the doctor's office when I tell them.

Been there, done that, if they give you eyedrops for them, you'll be amazed at how totally soothing they are. I use allergy drops frequently and lubricant drops daily, but the antibiotic drops I was given when I had conj. were just totally soothing, unlike anything else I've ever used. And the best thing was they made my eyes quit hurting ! Good luck !

It is still like that... It seems am going tomorrow to the doctor.

But I want to thank you guys for something.... not a suggestion you gave, but the amount of you who talk of having had conj. I had the impression that having such was something to be embarrased about.

As far as I know, there's nothing to be ashamed of about catching it, you don't have to anything illegal or immoral or anything to catch it, and like my eye dr. told me, it's VERY easy to catch, really worse than the common cold. Keep us updated!

Conjunctivitis is more commonly known as "Pink Eye" here. It's very common and also very contagious. Usually it is quickly cleared up by antibiotic drops. The last time I had it, my eyes were very light sensitive, too. Your parents are right to get you to the doctor.

Well, folks, its almost 9:00 AM here.... just came from the doctor (shows you how worried they were how early they took me?). I've got some drops now, and I talked to him about the insomnia.

He said, that although it was a severe thing to be awake for four hours, taking into account that such episodes are seasonal almost (spend weeks with it and not experience it until three months later) and due to my weight and height (5'6, 186 lbs) I ought to keep taking melatonin when its nescesary only.

Pleased you have something to solve your eye problem Victor, you will find a big difference.

I've just thought, with you not sleeping well, could that not have something to do with it?
. I know if i'm really tired, my eyes sting, i call it a 'scratchy' feeling.
