She was checked. No more kittens. But my question is concerning him. Is it possible to grow to fast??? He was born late at night Aug 2nd. His eyes are open today. I need to get a new scale. But he's heavy chubby and his legs are about as thick as a 4 week old kittens. He's also alert enough to crawl to me. I've never seen a kitten grow so fast. Image of him next to a 6 week old kitten attached

Older kittens not related. Just they like to snuggle with him and his mom. I just moved a kitten off of him in the 3 day old photo. They get along very well. Even now at his age he is playful when awake with Lil swats and grabs. He was like that before his eyes opened. I'm thinking learned from older kittens playing with him?

He's just a healthy, big kitten! [emoji]128571[/emoji]
lol he's huge! I've never had a 1 weaker I didn't feel like was fragile. He's so chunky. He also makes his own heat lol. I not used to warm fluffy newborns. It's crazy how big he has grown so fast

He's very large my scale is broke due to someone(foster cat) knocking it off the counter. But he's about the size of my 6 weeks old kittens very very big. I have images attached. The store I usually buy kmr is completely out and won't get shipment until sept 2nd. Is goats milk a okay alternative considering his size. His mom won't feed him anymore. She sees him about the same age as his cousins who she adopted after mom went hormonal aggressive(yet another post).. so she's trying to wean him. Notes his eyes opened about 4 days ago. He can partially stand when crawling and he's playful. So he is developing quite fast for his age but alas has no teeth as you would expect a 1 weeker to not have. I just don't want him to starve I'm so mad his mom is weaning him already. The others eat kitten food now.

next to average size solo cup and deodorant for scale
yes, goats milk is an excellent alternative.   If you have choice, take a full fat version, ie about 3%, not low fat diet alternatives.

That is btw for all milk products, for example mild plan yoghurt - preferably greek / turkish style, but common youghurt should do too - a little later on, or for grown up cats...

If you can get raw goats milk - fresh or frozen, is best although may be pricey.  Cartonned or powdered goats milk is OK  though, and cheaper than kmr.

September 2nd is a long time. You can order KMR on Amazon. In the meantime, goat's milk will be fine.

Do you know how much to feed him and how often? Or do you need help?

no I'm not sure the amount to feed him. I never had to feed tiny ones. Just older ones and they usually tell you when they are full lol

I'm assuming he weighs around 12 ounces based on your picture and description. If he weighs less, he'll let you know when he's full.

For now, begin giving him 8 mLs every 2 hours since he's only a week old. This needs to be around the clock if he's not nursing mom.

Let's see how he does with this today. It may be perfect, or it may be that he needs to eat every 3 hours instead of 2. Let me know!

Tummy down, head up when feeding!

his mom feeds him, just not as often now. But she usually fed h Every 4 hours and he nursed on and off for 30 mins. I really have no clue how he got so big with her feeding schedule. And okay I'm getting the goats milk asap right now I have her locked in a cage with him so she's kind if forced to let him nurse

Okay, then you can probably feed him the full 8 mLs, or as much as he wants, every 4 hours. Like I said, we'll see how it goes! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Do you have other stores you can get to that might carry KMR? Or order online?

Does he appear to be healthy and growing? How much milk have you been able to get into him, and how often?

You can try with some other brand of goats milk.  Sometimes there is some differences in flavor.

This already buyed you can give to momma or drink yourself.

a quarter of a bottle the lines are worn off my bottle from wear and boiling. But it's a 4 tbsp bottle. So about 1 table spoon Every 3-4 hours. He doesn't really like the taste. Which I don't blame him after nursing his mom his breath smells alot sweeter than this goats milk. And no the only brand of KMR I trust is sold there everyone one else sells hart. I'm heading to the next town for visiting friends so maybe I can find a petco there that sells it. That or find more goats milk. Heading to an organic market to find raw goats milk. But he has been nursing her. She leaves him long periods of time though..but he doesn't cry. But when I pick him up to check on him he's obviously rooting around gumming his paws and then trying to nuzzle my hand or chest. So he's obviously hungry, that's when I usually feed him but he's not keen on the goats milk. I hope I can find the KMR it's sweet smelling I know he would like it. The smell actually reminds me of a vanilla protein shake I have[emoji]128514[/emoji].

Walmart sells powdered PetAg. Royal Canin and GNC are good too. I hope you can find something at a pet store or Walmart.

Any chance you can pick up a digital kitchen scale at Walmart?

I really think you need to supplement him every 2 hours for now if you can.

I'm glad he's hanging in there! [emoji]128077[/emoji]
