I can't believe it's been 6 years since this thread:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/218087/omg-just-did-a-dramatic-rescue-was-almost-a-bridge-report

Tumbles has certainly grown into a big boy and is such a great kitty!  So loving, trusting of us, and he still loves to play.  I'm so glad we opened our home and harts to him.  I've lost touch with his rescuer, but I'm forever thankful that she stopped that day and pulled him out from that tire well and brought him home.  Happy Gotcha Day sweet little boy!

What a wonderful story! I'm so glad he was rescued and I'm even happier to hear he's had such a nice life with you.

Happy Gotcha Day, handsome boy.

What an Amazing and Beautiful Story.

To think, that six years ago he was rescued, and that you happened to read his story online, and then the rest is "Tumbles history" or the "Life of Tumbles".

I really like the name 'Tumbleweed' and I figure there is a story behind that name, too,  somewhere.

He kind of looks like a small tumbleweed in that first kitten photo, so I imagine he was a whirlwind throughout the home.

And the second photo, Tumbles looks very dignified, calm and wise, still with a bit of a wild glint in those eyes, whiskers and markings.

Beautiful cat.

Beautiful cat.
The story behind his name is nothing truly spectacular.  We were throwing around names one day when Tumbles came into the room and tried to clean himself.  He tumbled over because he was still an uncoordinated kitten.  The name popped into my husband's head and it stuck!  We usually call him Tumbles, Tumble-bumble, Tumble-love, Tumble-bug, or Tum-Tum.  I don't even know if he'd respond to Tumbleweed.  LOL

Actually, the story behind his name is kind of perfect and fun. I can picture little Tumbles tumbling over trying to clean himself. poor guy.

(I did first picture cowboy western movies, whistling music, rattles and wind throwing plants around.
)

(But your 'naming story' is much better. And Tumble-bumble and Tum-Tum is so cute.)

I do hope Tumbles did not do too many other dangerous acrobatics while younger and a kitten, So he still has plenty of those extra cat 'nine lives' left, multiplied by double.

Tumbling over does not count.
