So recently I have been trying to learn more about pet insurance and how beneficial it might be. A lot of people say it is really important but I've also heard other people say it's not worth it. I assume it mainly depends on the cost of vet bills but right now I am just trying to get a better idea about whether it is worthwhile and what it actually guarantees for my cat.

Not just the basics but if there is a specific place from where I should get my cat insurance from that too would be really helpful!

Thank youxxx

I have More than cat insurance its £8.66 a month. With cover up to £4000 vet fees. Its an excess charge of £75. Do shop around and go on comparison sites to find what best suits you

There are various companies that offer pet insurance and all vary in what is covered, how you are reimbursed, etc. You just have to spend time looking at each and choose what works best for your cat and fits in your budget.

Use the link provided by @LTS3, We bought our policy based on major illness it does not cover routine wellness or dental. Those are expenses we expect owning cats.

Pet insurance is a long term investment so buying the most expensive policy might seem like the best idea if you can't afford to make the premium payments for years it's money down the drain. We pay about 25 dollars a month for both our cats with a 500 dollar deductible and the insurance pays 80% after that.  We get an even deeper discount if we pay a whole year at once.

Aside from cost consider if the clinic can file claims electronically and the companies reputation for quick reimbursement. Some are days others piddle around for a month or more. Along with pet insurance it is a very good idea to open up a credit card , care credit has high interest rates but you almost always qualify for no interest if you pay off in 6 months. That keeps credit handy to pay the vet while waiting on reimbursement.
