Yes, just move the entire box into your bedroom with the A/C. She may be too hot in the other room anyway.

The situation needs to get resolved. I would not wait and see. A kitten has already been injured and continues to be moved by her, so something needs to change for the safety of the cat and kittens.

Just an update, ever since i moved the box to the corner as it can go and putting all the clothes directly over it to create a roof. She hasn't moved and have been nursing all the kittens. The vet said keep an eye on the kitten that fell and to see if he eats. Glad to see him eating with the other kittens.

Definitely a relief to us, I also noticed that Sabin like us being in the room as well. Whenever we are outside or in our room she will come to us.
Male kitten is definitely doing a lot better, have been eating regularly from what we could see. We generally weigh them every night but should we skip tonight in case that might stress Sabin out?

A question about cat litter for the kittens, we have been using Dr. Elsey Precious Cat Litter for Sabin, probably going to change it. Is Worlds best cat litter ok for the kitten or should we just fully avoid clumping litter altogether? Any recommendations on non clumping litter as we only used clumping since we got Sabin last month.

Just another quick question, when the cats are purring inside the litter box, is that because they are enjoying it or because they are nervous or scared?

Its a good question!  both are possible...   Do you mean the litter box as in the waste box?

If you mena litter box as in their nest, its probabnly enjoying.

Would Worlds Best Cat Litter be ok with the kittens? Or should we just avoid all clumping litter.

I'm not familiar with that brand, but non-clumping litter is best in the kitten pan in the very beginning.

By the time they are getting into mom's big pan they should be past tasting the litter, so mom can have clumping litter. It's much easier to scoop.

The male kitten lost 2 grams unfortunately. We are going to suppliment him. Is it ok for the kittens to drink the powdered kmr mixed with water? Vet said the premixed is probably better

Powdered is preferred over pre-mixed. I have found that the pre-mixed gives diarrhea, and the powdered contains probiotics.

Supplementing is advised. Feed tummy down, head up, using a needleless syringe. Put 1-2 drops in the side of the mouth, allow kitten to swallow, breathe, and go again. Go slow. You don't want the kitten to aspirate formula into its lungs. 1-2 mL to start every 2 hours. More if kitten wants it.

I think i got about 1ml down him. He seems to be nursing but I'm not too sure if he is getting anything. I checked him 3 times earlier today and he seemed like he was nursing. We will try and suppliment every couple of hours. Is it normal for the kitten to cry feeding them. It's my first time and i tried a bottle but she was crying and suckling at the same time. Would i need to stimulate him as well?

If momma is still taking care of him, you prob dont need to stimulate.

The nursing is pleasant etc, but as you say, sometimes we  dont really know if he gets anything.  The trick is to weigh them!   If unsure, better to supplement, till you are sure the crisis is over and they do gain.

Yes, they sometimes protest when supplement. It makes it of course more difficult, and more touchy.  You can wrap the kitten in a towel as a burrito, its easier to hold. Many kittens whom are nursing or "nursing" doesnt wants a bottle - momma is more pleasant.   So the trick is often to use a needleless syringe or even a dropper.  This is more touchy if done unskilled, but in other ways its safer.

Kittens with a mom will not take a bottle, which is why I recommended a needleless syringe.

He cried because he didn't know what was up. It's common until they get used to it.

You won't need to stimulate as mom will do that.

Even 1 mL every 2 hours is good. [emoji]128077[/emoji]

Thank you for your advice, we will continue to supplement till he gains the appropriate weight. Worlds best Cat Litter is a corn based clumping litter.

If your cat likes that litter, and you are satisfied with it, then it's a good litter! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Just measured the weight of the male kitten. He increased by 3 grams in 8 hours which is a promising sign. Was just about to suppliment him but saw him nursing from Sabin :). After he was finished there was milk around the teat of Sabin. So definitely know he was eating that time.

That's good news! Just make sure he gains 6-10 grams daily. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I will check the weight again tonight but he gained another 4 hands in 6 hours. He seems to be back to fully nursing with Sabin. It seems like he doesn't need the extra suppliment. Or should we keep going till he catches up with his weight to the others?

Helping him to catch up to the others is preferable. Then there's less to worry about.

I'm glad to hear he is eating well from mom now though. [emoji]128522[/emoji]
