He's really doesn't seem to care. Normally they would just lounge in different areas anyways. He's just had to find a new place to lounge since I kicked him out of the second room. He's moved from on top of the dresser to sprawling across the corner of the kitchen floor. And she would normally sleep on my pillow but she is either in the box or on the bookshelf watching the box. Ah it really is such a relief knowing he'll get the chop next week instead of end of the month!!! When I take him in I'm going to schedule momma's. I figure if I do it now there will be no reason they can't fit her in the first week of August once the kittens have hit 8 weeks.

HAH!  I was right about little #3.  I wasn't sure, she was so dark.  But she's a tortie or a torbie.  And I agree, those little ears on the whites are getting darker.  I think you gots you some color points there!  If they are little tabby points, please please please name one "Tora-Chan."  It means Tiger Dear in Japanese!

Number 1. Its crazy how much they grow in just a couple days.

Number 3 definitely has lightened up quite a bit!

My son keeps trying to give the kittens little cat toys so momma cat has moved them once again. She squeezed them under my headboard lol. I've always kept my mattress a little off center because thats always been her little safe space since my other cat is too big to fit there.

I don't have a scale, but I did order one from amazon over the weekend and it should be here in the next couple of days.

Got the scale in the mail today!
Kittens weighed for the first time today at 6 days old.. Mom weighed as well. She was a little more wiggly and weighed 3090 grams. I zeroed it out with the glasses case on it to keep them on it, they are getting squirmy.

Biggest one is #2.

Then comes #1

And #4, I use the ears to tell them apart so far. This one has one darker ear.

Tiny #3, smallest of the bunch.

I figured #6 would be the smallest actually, but I guess not.

And finally #5.

I'm glad you received your scale today.

We don't have a baseline, but they seem to be doing well, except for the smallest, at 115 grams. That's tiny for six days old. Many newborns weigh more than that.

I think you should begin supplementing this kitten 2-3 mLs of KMR every 3-4 hours until it gets bigger. Use a needleless syringe. I imagine the kitten has been maintaining but not growing much until now.

Each kitten needs to gain a minimum of 6-10 grams per day. I think you'll see this little kitten grow much faster with supplementing!

Do you need feeding instructions? It's tummy down, head up, a couple of drops in the side of the mouth at a time. Let kitten swallow and breathe and go again. Wrap kitten in a towel like a burrito if it's too wiggly.

Begin daily weighing at the same time each day. You can weigh the tiny one every 12 hours for a few days. Let's see if we can get it caught up to the others soon.

Let me know how it goes.

well one night of supplementing little #3 and she is at 121 this morning. Big girl, #2, is up to 160 this morning. I was only able to get two supplemental feedings in during the night. #6 Only gained 1 gram overnight :( He is very unhappy with the syringe feeding. Gonna try to sneak in another feeding right now since momma went to eat

Bingo! Supplementing can make all the difference in the world.

Kittens with moms tend to fight it. They just want mom's nipple until they learn there's good stuff in that syringe!

I'm really pleased the little one has already gained. She needed it! [emoji]128077[/emoji]

#3 gained 11 grams in the last day.

#2 is just a porker. I felt bad that I was only trying 3, 5, and 6 so the other 3 got a little bit as well. #2 just lays there slurping it down like a pro. Such a little tank compared to the orhers...

#5 and #6 need to get with the program. Neither of them like the syringe feeding. #6 especially but he at least gained a bit more than #5.

All the girls are, I'm about 90% sure 1 and 4 are girls too. The two boys, 5 & 6, still don't seem to want to take it very well.
