My 10 month old cat has thrown up 3 times in the last 2 weeks and I’m trying to determine the culprit. We’ve been doing half raw and half canned for right now. Every time she has gotten sick, it has been 5 hours after eating. It has also only been after the morning feeding, not he nightly one. Two weeks ago Sunday, she threw up after a few days of eating half raw (chicken) and half beef. I assumed it was the beef, so I switched to half raw, and half canned duck. After about a week of that, she threw up again. She then threw up again two days later (today) after eating half raw and half canned chicken. She has mostly eaten canned chicken before this and never had any problem (Wellness brand). I’m not sure if the problem is switching between the proteins or the raw food.. I’m about to make a new batch of raw food, but I’m not sure if I should just start giving her only that, or if I should go back to the wet food that never upset her stomach. She had been on only Wellness wet chicken and never had any problems on it. Any ideas?? I tried to research about switching between proteins before I started giving her different ones but couldn’t find a definitivr answer.

I thought my cat was throwing up from raw too, however that wasn't the case. It was the proteins. I have learned that he can't eat raw chicken or he gets severe diarrhea that requires antibiotics to fix it but he does similar to your girl on kangaroo.

He can eat kangaroo on the first day and on day 2 he sort of looks unwell (this is at 1 raw roo feed a day), by day 3 he's hanging around, off his food and the throwing up begins.

But he's fine with raw beef.

I believe beef is high on the list of allergens for cats. I would go back to all canned for a week or two, see if she stops throwing up and once you're sure she has try a single protein, just a little at a time, to see how she goes. Maybe try the chicken first and if that's fine then it's probably the beef. If she throws up again go back to canned for a week and try the beef (or something else).
