Thank goodness! This is good news. Kitten will be okay, mom can move around if need be, and sounds like mom is preparing to birth another. Depending on what happens, follow the same protocol for the next kitten. Good luck! [emoji]128077[/emoji]

1230am my time, just now, placenta finally came out! Thank the Lord above. Now hopefully she can get on with having these others that I can still feel moving around.

12:30am my time too. Thankful the placenta emerged. She'll have the others. It may be a long night. Set up your sleeping bag on the floor nearby and try to rest. Mama kitty needs to stay calm but know you're nearby. You both need rest. Hang in there!

Thanks a bunch for all your support. I've got her beside my bed because she decided she wanted to use a tote box this time. I put another one under it to raise it where she can she me cause she has a fit if she can't. It's wedged between my bed & my desk so it is very stable. She seems like she is close to having the next one so we shall see if either of is get rest at all.

Just after I sent that, she yowled, pushed twice & had a white kitten.

yeah, it's the same mom. Daisy got out and was caught very quickly each time but apparently NOT quickly enough.
we have changed things around this time so that she cannot get out when the door is opened for anyone to go in or out.
She will be taken as soon as these are weaned and able to eat on their own to the vet and then she will go back to her
original owner. I have agreed to give her back to her but I am going to make it so she goes to the vet the day she gets her back
as I do not trust her to take her once she has her in her possession.
I'm glad you'll be helping her. She can start with the kmr now, and through her nursing. Where are the kittens from the first litter?

Yes the placenta for the white one came right out. Now she's doing it again. The 4th one born is still attached & I have a raging headache that just won't quit. I wish she would do like she did the first litter and go by the book.

Ok so this kitten is extremely strong for a newborn & still attached after almost an hour & a half. It is stretching the cord very taut to get to a place to nurse. I'm afraid to let it go much longer, I'm afraid it might tear it's tummy at the cord.

I gently pull then cut - No it's not recommended to do so. But if the kitten is dangling and the situation calls for it...The placenta as mentioned will follow through when time is right.

This kitten had pulled so much & so hard that it had torn it some already. Luckily it was not near it's belly. I got it tied off twice & cut without too much trouble. Now I'm back to waiting.

In general, there is no need for you to wait for mom to cut the cord if she doesn't do it fairly soon after birth. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I believe you can step in fairly quickly.

Yes, cord can be cut after just a few minutes. I recommended it be cut right away in an earlier post, but A amandanc was unable to get between mom and kitten to do so at that point.

I'm glad all is well with this kitten. I believe this makes four?

So sorry about the slow placental deliveries. It's unusual for it to take so long. I hope you get some sleep, and update us when you can!

@sarthur2 thank you for everything. Daisy had 5 kittens. She still had not cleaned herself up earlier today & still would not get up or out of the box. So I called the vet & took her in to be checked. She had a full bladder & couldn't pee but no more kittens were shown. The vet helped her relieve some of the pressure on her bladder & she is back to normal now. He said that she was extremely swollen. I think that came from the white kitten coming out breech & fast.

A amandanc

Thank goodness she's okay!

Is she eating and drinking now? Are the kittens all latching and nursing well?
