Swollen nipples are one of the signs of pregnancy .
You should have her spayed and vaccinated ASAP. The longer you wait the harder it will be on the kitty and yourself.
Good luck to you and kitty.

She will be spayed now that i know she likes to escape when she gets the chance.... but if she is pregnant how can i tell how far along she is so i know when to make her an appointment

Do you want to end the pregnancy or no? If she's not far along and you don't want kittens it should be done ASAP. If you do want her to have the kittens, she can be spayed 8 weeks after they are born. Pregnant cats CANNOT get vaccines.

For future reference, it is always beneficial to spay and neuter, whether your cats are escape artists or not. It greatly cuts down on the chance of reproductive cancer, and pyometria (a fatal if untreated infection) in females. They are also much calmer and more comfortable because they don't have hormones controlling them.

Ok. She is almost definitely pregnant. You should begin feeding her unlimited dry and wet kitten food now through when the kittens wean.

You will also need to make absolutely sure that she does not get out until she is spayed. Pregnant cats will sometimes panic and try to have their babies outside. They can also get pregnant within a week of delivery.

There is a wealth of information on this site in articles and threads. I would do some reading and let us know how we can helps!

So i posted on here a week or two back trying to figure out if my mittens was expecting. Well it was confirmed monday when i saw them moving around inside her. So today i ran to the store came home and one kitten has been born. Mittens wont let me leave her side now and if i do she gets out of her nest to follow me. My question now is how long does labor usually last. Im stuck sitting in my laundry room until ahe calms down. But im pretty sure theres still more since shes still having contractions and crying

Also should the kitten be nursing. Mommy keeps moving around and kitten is just following her and cuddles up next to her just not eating

Is she bleeding?  Is she trying to push and nothing is happening?

Labor can take quite a while.  You want to encourage her to lie down with her kitten in her nest.

Did you buy kmr?  No need to panic yet.  Moms do not always nurse until they are totally done with delivery.

Kmr is kitten milk replacer. It's important to have on hand in case you need to supplement any of the kittens.  It's also helpful for mom to drink a bowl a day.  Look for the powdered kind.  PetAg is the best brand, but avoid Hartz.

Is mom still crying?  How long has she been pushing?

Kitty check list would be kmr, a needle-less syringe, and a small scale that weighs in grams.  You should be able to get at a pet store or even walmart.

See if mom will nurse the kittens in the meantime. Put them to a nipple if she will let you.
