We have been through the same pain you are going through and can help you through this, you need to talk to people who understand. My prayers are with you and Psycho.

All you can do is to let him know how loved and valued he is, and I'm sure he already knows this. To lose one at that incredibly young age is almost unimaginable, my heart breaks to think what you are going through. You'll know when the time to let go comes, you can't let one that you love so much suffer needlessly, but you also want to squeeze every second of living you have left. When he doesn't seem to enjoy life anymore, or seems to be suffering pain that you know cannot be taken away, that is the time. There are pain meds that can be given at home to help him manage. I know it's hard, and seems so unfair, but try to celebrate that you have had him at all in your life, to not have known him at all would have been so much worse, he became a part of your world and filled it with love. It is so much harder on the one that is left behind, his pain will end but yours is just beginning. Time is the only thing that helps, remember that all he ever wanted is to love you, and that will continue for the rest of your life through the bond you have formed out of that love. I wish I could make it all better, but we can never control certain aspects of our life, and this is certainly one of the worse to go through. I'll pray for you both, for Psycho to die peacefully at home, surrounded by love, and for you to find the comfort you need through your precious memories and from friends who understand your grief, take care my friend, and give sweet little Psycho a kiss from me.

Hello
I am sorry. I have recently lost my kitty to FIP dry form as well. It literally scars your heart to watch your baby deteriorate. It was traumatizing for me. HOWEVER know that you are not alone. Know that you kitty loves you. Know that there is nothing else you can do but keep loving him and letting him feel your love. Cats can sense it. Im sorry. Have you been to a vet?

Yes ive been to the vet over and pver and finally she says its most likely fip. He has had a fever for 2 and a half months now off and on its really high. He cant see anymore he wheezes loud he can barely walk the last attempt he hasnt been able to use his back legs. I went outside to smoke and came back in to find him in a puddle of his own pee. Ive decided its time but wont have the money till friday. My baby isnt my baby anymore. I am so heartbroken all i can do is hold my baby and cry. I didnt feel this way even when my parents passed. Why is our god so cruel?

I'm so sorry that you and your little guy are going through this.
FIP is a horrible disease. I know you're hurting so much right now. But if your kitty is suffering and you feel it is time, I do encourage you to call around to some local shelters, humane societies, and other vets to see if they will help him cross over to the rainbow bridge at a reduced fee or no fee, or ask a family member or friend to lend you the money. There's nothing so painful that watching our furbabies deteriorate before our very eyes. My thoughts are with you.

May I suggest CARECREDIT. It's a credit card that can be used for elective stuff and vets. I use it for my pets in case anything happens. Usually I get one year no interest to pay it off. Maybe it will work for u. Applying for it is very easy. In case aspca can't help lower the cost. If I hadn't taken my baby to the vet he would have died of severe fever. If your kitty has a fever of 107 please at least have some bagged ice on the floor put a little towel on top and have your kitty sit there. That should lower his fever down a bit. That is what my vet did when he saw my kitty fever was 105! Eventually however he had to go :(

I cry for your pain, and the loss to the world of such an innocent. There are many things on this earth that are out of our control, and this is one of them. For millions of years we have been unable to understand why things like this happen, and though it feels right now like it is breaking you apart, in truth it will make you stronger. Grief tears at our souls it shatters our world, but what rises out of the ashes is a determination to strive to make things better, to not let our loved ones die in vain.  For every sweet one that is taken by FIP, it brings science a little closer to understanding this horrible disease, and with understanding comes a cure. One day all cancers and disease like this will be wiped from the face of the earth, it is up to us to help make this happen. Death comes to us all, it is life that we can control. We can choose to bring in happiness and sunshine, and do good things in our babies names, like donating time or supplies at a local shelter, or opening our hearts to one of the countless that so desperately need love and care.  We can all do our part one sweet angel at a time. I will pray that your sweet baby finds peace, he already has love, and that he waits for you on the lap of an angel. My tears fall for your fear and pain, know I share your grief, you are not alone, may you be blessed for hurting so much from loving.  Take care of yourself and kiss sweet Psycho for me.........

Dry FIP responds considerably better to PI than wet so keep your thoughts positive. Rest assured we will all be hoping for the best.

I am sorry! I just lost my beloved 9 months old to FIP last night. My heart is broken into pieces. I have read that its caused by frequent vaccinations/neutering and other stressors. I was so stupid to vaccinate my baby "on schedule" per vet and then neutering too early, also per vets advise. May i ask if your kitty had early/ frequent vaccinations/neutering? Im blaming myself in his death bc i listened to vets. Now i read all these things are harmful to immature immune system of a kitten.

I hope that everything works out with you and your little kitty. I lost my 7 month kitten to dry FIP which progressed into wet FIP, we let her go in June and it was one of the hardest things I have dealt with. It was so sudden and she was so loving so I feel for your pain greatly. We also tried polyprenol immunostimulant, but she was already in the disease late stages at that point, so the medicine did nothing. In 3 weeks she went from feverish to a shell of her former self, we barely had time to react. I was convinced it had to be something other than FIP, perhaps because if it was I knew we would be able to save her. I spent over 1,000 dollars trying to save her, took her to 4 different vets, before I finally accepted her fate.

I really hope your situation is much better than mine, and wish you the best. Just know you have those who are here that have experienced your pain and care very deeply for your situation. My baby was my world and even today I cry, but I thank god that I got to have the joy of her in my life. If things do worsen, and you're scared of making the right decision, just know that they look at you with this sad look of submission and pain, and you know in your heart they gave up. I saw that look in my fierce little girl, then finally let her rest a couple days later, as I realized she was in so much pain.

Good luck and I'm very sorry for her little psycho. :(
