Hello all,
I'm new to this site and so thankful for all I have already learned by reading the threads. I have an indoor (except for however/whenever she got out!) pregnant adult kitty that is nearing the end of her pregnancy. She had an X-ray done this past Wednesday and the vet said she will likely have her babies by the weekend. I have a couple of questions...
1. Would loose stinky stools be an indicator of labor approaching (no change to her diet other than a few weeks ago when we added kitten food)?
2. She seems to be drinking a lot more since yesterday...is that a sign?
3. She hasn't shown and nesting behavior but I have set up several areas for her...Is that ok or a sign that maybe she doesn't know what's about to happen??
Thank you for any advice!!
Note: This was an unplanned litter and will be her only one. She and her kittens will be spayed/neutered when they're ready. I shamefully did not spay her soon enough and feel terrible:( but will do right by all of them from here on out!

I love the expression on her face.

She won't go into the nest until she is ready to deliver.  So, no worries there.

Signs to look for, mucus plug,  water/fluid breaking and or leaking, runny stools, milk coming in, being uncomfortable and/or very affectionate.

Have you seen/felt the kittens moving?  She will give birth 2 - 3 weeks after this.

Do you have everything ready?

Thank you for the info!!
She is a very very sweet girl and is very bonded to me. Wherever I go, she goes;) I'lol continue to keep an eye out for the signs. The vet said he thinks she will have 5...4 are easily seen but we think there is another hiding up in her rib cage area.
We have seen and felt movement for the last couple of weeks. I was able to express some milk from her nipples this morning. I have a box with all kinds of birthing supplies...gloves, scale, wipes, towels, thermometer, hand sanitizer, scissors if needed, kmr, bottles, syringes, floss, gauze, ...I think there are a couple of more thing in it but I came remember at the moment;)

My pregnant torti looks almost identical to yours! I rescued her almost 2 weeks ago. Looks like they may deliver around the same time. Mine has her milk in, she's had mucusy discharge since tuesday, and is also now having loose stools! I hope everything goes well for you guys!

Aww:) I hope all goes well with your little one too! Our Eva seemed to be eating less the other day but has an appetite again and I thought I saw a few contractions yesterday but nothing else really. I haven't seen any discharge...so we're just waiting and hoping all goes well. The vet was a little concerned by the size of the kittens heads and her pelvis so we are watching her very very closely.

Question...
When people say their queens belly "dropped", is that a sure indicator that labor is within 12-24 hrs? I think Eva looks like she's carrying the kittens lower now...even my 4 year old said her belly looks "downer and smaller". I also don't see as much movement but I haven't noticed and mucus plug loss or water leaking...
I know no one has a crystal ball or anything but just wondering...

I'm in the same boat as u new to all this myself they say when the belly "drops" it's the babies getting ready.. turned round and into the canal hopefully it ain't much longer for u both the waiting game is a killer lol my queen is due any day now, her milk is in and her temp is 37c today no mucus or anything else but she definitely fed up.. poor thing gave birth on the 8th Feb to 1 stillborn kitten then the owner let her out the day after and I've taken her in and will get her spayed when she is allowed to.. good luck :)

It sounds like she's "dropped" - with babies moving down closer to the birth canal. My cat was huge and I never could tell when she dropped. The mucus plug and water breaking do not always happen early. Your cat is getting closer though! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Eva has had 5 babies!! All seem well and weigh 90-121 grams. Does that sound like good weights?

Congratulations!  All are within range.  Keep weighing them at the same time every day to make sure they are all gaining.  We want pictures.

She did so amazing! We were out at our twins school program and dinner and came home to find her and her first born orange kitten in a box on a shelf in my closet! We moved them to the nesting box we made and she had the rest in there. She ate 3 placentas and all were delivered. We have 2 orange, 2 torties, and 1 solid black[emoji]128573[/emoji][emoji]128573[/emoji][emoji]128573[/emoji][emoji]128573[/emoji][emoji]128573[/emoji]

Is it normal for Rosie to be panting? She didn't even do that in labor.
