Originally my cats were on mostly wet food with dry food in the bowl all day for snack (when they were babies). Then they got wet food morning and night and a little dry mid day. Then as they got older and i didn't have as much cash I did dry once a day and wet once a day. Now it's mostly dry and wet occasionally! I know I know it's not how it should be! I want to feed them mostly if not all wet but I still don't want to spend a fortune. Is it best to buy from Chewy or some place and buy in bulk? I hate that I can't seem to find cases of assorted flavored online. Is there any place better to buy?

Chewy typically has the best prices, but sometimes Amazon has them for the same price, and if you have Prime then shipping is free. Petco has sales sometimes too and discounts with your Pals card.

Cases of food tend to come in only one variety / flavor. Some that do have variety packs are Tiki Cat, Weruva, Soulistic, BFF, Wellness, Friskies, and Fancy Feast. If the brand you feed doesn't have a variety pack, then you'll have to either buy a case of each variety or buy individual cans.

I much prefer buying at local stores: there are so many foods in our cats' rotation that if I bought everything by the case, I'd need a storeroom to keep all the food!

In my case (sorry for the pun) the locals often turn out to be cheaper than Chewy: there's often a 10% discount if I buy at least 12 cans from the same brand in one purchase, plus some stores have good loyalty programs that give me $5 off here and there. They also sometimes have great sales: one has 25% off Weruva today so I'm going to stock up. Another plus when they know you is that sometimes they'll check with you if they have something they think you'll want: I got a great deal (1/3 off) on bags of dehydrated raw food recently because the expiration date was close. We feed lots of that food so it wasn't a problem for me. I sometimes get samples, too.

Chewy has bailed me out more than once on a lot of things... but I like to support local stores where I've gotten so much great advice on feeding and know I can always pick up something good for the cats when I need it. Despite the  flaws -- limited hours, limited selections, longer times to receive orders than through Chewy -- I really want them to stay in business!

What are you feeding your kitties?

I feed Fancy Feast Classics the majority of the time, and supplement with more expensive brands occasionally.  I've found that it is cheapest to buy Fancy Feast by the case (each case has 3 flavors) from Target when they have a sale price + gift card promo.

I purchase Wellness, Soulistic, Nutro Natural Choice, Under the Sun, Sheba, Good Natured, etc. whenever I have coupons or rewards, or there are awesome sales or clearance finds.

I also order from Chewy.com occasionally, but not for canned/wet food.  I've ordered Primal freeze-dried raw from them.  Their customer service is fantastic!

We recently switched to Canidae Pure Grain Free.  We found it at PetCo but ended up ordering the cases on Chewy only because our local PetCo can't seem to keep it in stock.

I just noticed Tiki Cat on a pretty decent sale on Drs Foster and Smith. Specifically, on clearance. Is there some recall out there or something? Or are they just no longer carrying it after that?

If you're located in the northeast try the Stop & Shop supermarket chain for a store brand pet food called "Companion.'  Their wet cat canned cat food is grain-free and reasonably priced.
