Tonight I was supposed to apply my topical dewormer on the base of my kittens neck; you're supposed to spread the fur apart so you can get close to the skin and apply it there, but when I did so it just ended up all in his fur and now the back of his neck is very greasy. I'm worried I didn't get it anywhere close to where it needed to be, and also since he cannot clean himself there, will his fur stay that greasy unless I clean him myself? Thanks!

Just leave it alone for a day or two while it absorbs into his skin, and then you can brush it out if it's still there. Unless it's a super fluffy cat with super thick fur, I think it should still be able to get into his system and do its job. My experience with Revolution is that the fur at the application site stays stiff with the medicine for a couple days at most, and it softens back to normal on its own. If you have any other animals just make sure they don't groom him there. Most of these medicines are probably fine if they're ingested, but then your kitten wouldn't get the full dose.
