I came home to no new vomit, which I thought was good, but she's ignoring her kittens. even as they SCREAMED.  In fact one came over to her, adn she jumped up on a chair.  I gave more ID- which she ate, and I started syringe feeding the babies who were SCREAMNG. As the Big (5 week old) kittens  have been showing a lot of interest in the Mama's food, we made a gruel of the milk and food, which they happily started lapping up. I also syringe fed them, as they took it much more easily.

I called the shelter- they told me to withold Naomi's food for a day. She's  drinking, which is good, They don't use the ER clinic, and our vet is closed. If  need to, i will take her to teh ER and  just absorb the cost- i ahv ea lot of friends and reader who are invested in these cats and will halp with vet care- I've been asked a few times.

Anyone have any ideas?

It's hard to say. Hoping this will pass. It's good the kittens are eating the gruel and taking supplements from you. I sure hope mama feels better soon!

Could it be possible that she has mastitis? She's been nursing a big crew and it would be painful for her to nurse now. That would also cause a fever, which could cause the vomiting.

Yes, there are a lot of people who have your back. Do what you think best for her.

I really don't think she has a fever. In fact, she feels COLD to me.  Her ears are cold, her tummy is cold, and she let me touch her nipples, which feel engorged.  :(

I'm going to check her every 1/2 hour or so and make sure she's all right. she' sNOT dehydrated, which I am so thankful for.

A warm, damp compress on her tummy may offer relief to her engorged nipples. I agree it could be mastitis. Her being cold is not good. I think you should see a vet. [emoji]128528[/emoji]

I have a call in to a freinds vet  The thing is, she WANTS to eat, is drinking, etc.   I put in a cat crate and separated her from the others for at least 24 hours.

Can you not give the kitties to the other mum for feeding?

I HATE logging in to news like this.  Let me know if there is anything I can do, besides light a candle for Mama Cat, which is done.

I just walked in to this:

She ca.e over to one crying kitten, and cuddled it, then began to nurse it. Then, sweet, sweet Wynonna came over to help.
Is KMR rough on the tummy? I might give her some.

She ate a bit of kibble. Well see.
