im thinking of pumping up my cat a little by adding chicken breast meat to my his diet once/twice a week.

but can't decide whether should I steam it or boil it.

which is the recommended way that has the 'least' nutritional loss ?

i know cooking it will have nutritional loss.

In my experience, it does not matter, because unsupplemented (people) food should not be more than 10% of a cats caloric needs regardless; I don't believe steaming or boiling affects the finished meat. My cat loves it either way, maybe likes it boiled n cooled a little more.

I personally boil, then remove a little for the cat when done, then finish by adding carrots, rice onions n celery and poultry seasoning to the water, and make a dinner for myself. Either is fine and poaching is another option. Just use plain water. No broth, spices, seasonings, etc.

Just keep the cooked meat to less than 10% of rthe diet to avoid unbalancing your cat's entire diet. A few pieces once or twice a week is plenty. If you plan to use the cooked meat as a bigger part of the diet, then you do need to supplemlent the cooked meat with something like the UStew premix.
