Hello to all!
 Happy Tuesday!

Do you know what your cats are up to at night?

Q inpsired by this vid ~

Camelot is pretty straightforward - He sleeps. Curling himself somewhere. Or at least as far as I know
could be secretly having forum arguments on the computer with strangers, hunting scary flies or stealing something from the fridge instead. But so far, he is a silent and avid nighttime sleeper. Until morning comes and starvation kicks in.

Morgana for the majority of the time sleeps as well, mainly snuggled against my neck/chest/head/back throughout the night. But if she is active, she likes to sprint back and forth across my bedroom, and proceed to intentionally knock things down with her paw
doesn't take too long, maybe around 10 minutes. Then will return to the bed, her paw tapping my head as if saying  "Okey dokey, I'm ready to cuddle and snooze again, lift up that blanket so I can crawl under to be with you!"

That video is hilarious!

Casper, I'm almost sure, just sleeps or mostly. He always comes to bed with us (in fact, HE brings us to bed!) and is there for hours.  He gets up, but usually comes back to our bed or his small cat tree in our office window. When I get up, I hear him jump down off the tree so I know he's just been chilling.

Cocoa? I think she also mostly sleeps but we do hear her running around downstairs at times. But, most times if Tom or I wake up and go down for a drink or something, we see her jumping out of her cat bed.  Dawn is her bewitching hour. She's a good alarm clock.

Mabel runs around a lot at night and then just as we are falling asleep, she decides to dig in the litter box and make me get out of bed to scoop it before I can go to sleep (otherwise it stinks up my house).

Too funny! Reminds me of my boys.

Toothless (my female cat) shuts herself in my daughter's room and sleeps until 6 am.

Jake and Andy are wild at night. Around 9 pm when all the humans are getting ready for bed Jake likes to hang out in the bath tub and sing at the top of his lungs. When I go to bed I usually forget to shut my bedroom door, but the boys like to remind me by chasing each other into my room and jumping on me. When I shut my door they like to break in. They play fight around midnight and at 3 am they usually try to break into my room again. They are extremely vocal. By 7 am they cleaned their food dishes and threw their water bowl across the kitchen. That's when they'll scratch and meow at my door to let me know they need more food.

I should say I hate their late night antics, but I don't. It's hilarious.

AS FAR AS I'M AWARE (
), Speedy is with me, sleeping right against me throughout the night.  The only thing I really know her to do is to jump up and look out the window for awhile, then comes back to bed.  However, did the cats' humans in this video think the same thing?  Only to find out they were up to a lot!  It seems they had a great hunting instinct in this film, the way they were carrying around the stuffed toys like it was captured prey!

Thanks for posting this, I loved this!  I imagine there are cats out there that go bonkers during the night!??

...with the cats...
yes, i pretty much do!

little deedee and punkin (both about 7 1/2 months old now), nap for parts of the night and in between those naps they play -- with toys, cat games, wild and noisy chase games, and etc. they have learned though, not to play loud in the living room at night while mommy's sleeping. i sometimes have to remind them of this, simply by saying, 'remember, no loud playing in the living room while mommy's sleeping'.

our jaspurr loves watching out the windows during the night time hours -- we live in a rural area, so there's wild critters out there that are especially active at night. but he also plays with the girls, or at least keeps an eye on what they're up to.

all three cats come to snuggle in bed with me at various points of the night. punkin doesn't like under the covers, but jaspurr and deedee prefer under the covers and snuggled in my arms. punkin likes to curl up against my legs or on my feet.

That video is funny!  Good find.

I think they mostly sleep but sometimes I wake up and they're not on the bed...then I find mysterious pawprints on my computer the next morning and we get packages from Amazon that I don't remember ordering...

I wake up several times during any given night, and MOST of the time, Hekitty is snuggled in behind my knees, or at the foot of the bed.  She seems to be pretty quiet at night, except for rare occasions when she spends most of the night waking me up every hour on the hour.

As far as I know Rose sleeps on my pillow till dawn when she starts pestering me for breakfast. She pesters me by walking all over my back and jumping on and off the bed walking around. Katness sleeps also at the foot of the bed or on the couch. She starts meowing at me around 6:30am for breakfast . :D

Emma likes to talk to her jingly balls for awhile. Then she'll carry one into the bedroom while still talking, either drops it on the floor or carries onto the bed and then settles in to sleep.

Leroy sometimes is ready for bed as soon as I climb in. Other times he's off doing who knows what before getting onto the bed.

That video looks very much like what the youngin's sound like at night. Racing through the house all night long. Sometimes Oliver is in bed with me, and sometimes so are the other two. But that's more in the middle of the night, not when I first go to bed. Oscar occasionally follows me to bed, but it's so he can bite my feet through the blanket.

I am having a good laugh over these midnight cat antics!!  Thanks everyone!!

I have read about paw prints
on computers,,  cats talking to jingling balls,
some walking on owner's back to wake them up,
  biting feet through blankets,
   singing in the bathtub !!
, little ones being told to keep it down
,   sounds of running around the house
,  scratching in litter boxes at the most inconvenient times
, knocking items down with paws
,  cats testing out their time-telling skills by  waking owner hour on the hour
 !!

Thank you everyone , I have enjoyed these posts so much!!

Thank you @Cassiopea  for this great question and posting the video!  I especially found it interesting and funny that the cats' eyes were glowing!

Great video. I love Cole and Marmalade. There are three things that Mingo does that I know about besides sleep. He's a great hunter. The first thing is mouse watch in the kitchen, where he crouches at a corner cabinet waiting for the mice to come out. The second is mouse patrol in the basement. We haven't had any mice in the house since last summer, but those are the two places where he caught them, and he hasn't given up yet. The third is watching for raccoons on the deck through the kitchen sliders. I discouraged the raccoons by turning on a motion sensor light, but he still has high hopes.

A lot of the time, he is in bed with me. He won't go to bed with me, but he waits by the door until I've fallen asleep, then he jumps into bed. I don't know where he sleeps if he sleeps somewhere else. But always, always, he's in bed with me when I wake up in the morning. He's a very polite kitty and only purrs to wake me up. If that doesn't work, he goes back to sleep. I couldn't ask for more.
