MOD NOTE - 3/14/16

Many of the more off-topic posts in this thread have been moved from Angel's Bridge thread.

@cat nap,
Yes, When Publisher's clearing house finally knocks on my door, we can all go on a vacation!!
Wouldn't that be fun!!!!  I haven't had one of those in years!

Yes, well paying off the c.c is going to take a while!!  Still stuff on there from Ange's cystitis bouts in 2012!!!  The only thing I have used it for was an unexpected filling a couple of years ago. It's a very high interest card, but I was grateful for it!  So, I am just going to try & pay any extra I can, when making payments.

As far as travel, I'd have to try & save for that too.  My friend that moved is in Delaware, so I would go when it's warmer weather.

@Angels mommy   (Publisher's clearing house is STILL around???

Wow.  I remember seeing those commercials, with the huge checks and balloons at the door.
No, I was thinking more "powerball lottery". or maybe our odds in Vegas would be good.
Probably not, in Vegas, though.  Delaware?? I had to look up where that State is, cause there are so many States.  Oh, no, it's not tropical, or hot sun there, either. Can't you ask any of your friends to move to Florida, southern California, Texas, etc. Even Vegas, is warm...no??  Just joking, you cannot go around asking your friends to suddenly move. Okay, I'll be waiting for that Publisher's to come a knocking at your door, then.

)

Now, back to the real world, and paying off bills, and saving for future expenses, and leisure time, too. Well, summer will be just around the corner, right after Spring time...so not so far away.

I hope your Friday, goes well, and you keep yourself busy, but balance it with rest and doing little enjoyable things, too. Eventually, a new routine will be good.

(I love that cat tree. Even when you don't have things like trees, or cat beds, you still see our rainbow cats everywhere, around the house, so that is to be expected. Strangest will be when you see a look-a-like outside, on t.v., or in a photo.) But one day, you'll eventually smile, and just remember all the good stuff, and your heart will be lighter.

Maybe we should come visit you, Kelly!  I'd love to lounge on Wrightsville beach come July and scoop up some Venus fly traps on the back roads. Got high school friends to see in Wilmington, too. Ya never know, we might descend on you this summer.

@DreamerRose   The 'lounging on the beach' sounds fantastic,
but when you mentioned "Venus fly traps"...ahhh, plants that are able to catch bugs..
..I'm not so sure, anymore.
How come warm places have dangerous reptiles, plants and bugs?? (Umm, I'll wait until Angels mommy wins the lottery, and makes the place we visit...very secure.)

Sounds good to me!  W/ my fair skin, no lounging on the beach for me though.
I only burn, burn, & burn some more!  BUT, has turned out to be a blessing, as no one believes my age when I tell them.
(I'm sure never having had children has a little to do w/ it as well).

Awww, come on now, we're not all that bad like Florida, & Australia. I could never live in those places for that reason!  Also, it's now illegal to dig up Venus fly traps. I guess they're getting rare??

Yeah it's a bit buggy around Wilmington. Neat to see, though. 60 miles around Wil. is the only place in the world they grow wild. Ocean breezes keep the bugs off the beach.

Actually, those plants do sound pretty neat to see, and if they are catching bugs that bite humans, ...then all the better.

Yeah, I've always wanted to live by the ocean, except for the rain, and winter time storms. I think I'll have to look up some of these places, now and what these plants look like.

Venus fly traps are illegal to dig up, but they grow on the dirt roads out in the boonies. It's ok to take those when the road graders scrape them up. Catnap, all the beaches in NC are great. We used to go to Ocean Isle every year.

Wilmington isn't that far from my hometown of Fayetteville. Maybe we need to plan a long weekend on the beach.

I did have a better day yesterday though. I had my hair appointment at noon, then I went to Home Goods, & finally found curtain rods for my new drapes, so now, once i can get someone to put them up, my room makeover will finally be done, with the exception of wanting to paint my dressers white, to change it up & brighten it up!

Here's after "getting my hair did."

Here are the rods I found for only 16.99 each!!!

I also still have to paint the new coffee table I found at a consignment shop in the fall w/ my mom. It's in my dad's shop in their back yard. I wanted to stain the top gray, & spray the bottom & legs Ivory, but the wood was too orange, & wouldn't take the stain, not even after sanding it down really good. My mom & I tried on Friday. So, I will either just paint it all Ivory, & maybe try a light misted coat of light gray paint on the top, OR just leave it all Ivory. Will have to see how it looks. I love my long 4 ft long glass coffee table I've had, but I've had it forever, & one of the pestle's had a weak spot that finally broke through, so had a hole in it. I just have had it facing in, so it's not noticed as much. The new one is shorter, but 3 " wider. What also sold me on it was that it had 3 drawers, so I can put the remotes away, & will look tidier.

Here is the coffee table. My dad had it up on this cart, so it's easier to work with, on wheels.

Theses are the knobs I am putting on it when done! I found them at Hobby Lobby, & last week they were 50% off!  So, this is probably what I will be doing/working on next weekend!

Thanks Eric!  I didn't have it cut this time though. We did 2 inches off last time (I go ev. 5 wks) so didn't cut this time. I always have to have my color done though! "The silver was creeping out!!"

Thank you for the many prayers!!!!!!!!!!

I love your hair. How many colours did you put in it? It's gorgeously.
Mine looks dreadful until I'm able to go to the hairdresser.

I have no idea what a glaze on top of hair colour is but it certainly looks good @Angels mommy  .

Keeping fresh flowers in the house is a lovely thing to do, and fresh flowers are a great way of bringing colour and positive energy in to the home.

I love your hair colour too.  Just curious, how quickly does the red wash out / fade?   I love red hair, but find it fades so quickly and if I don't have the right shade, it fades to orange!

Thanks! Just one color.  My friend is good at what she does!

Thanks! A glaze is kind of the same as a gloss, & there is a clear, but also some w/ a little color in them, so gives it a little kick up! ;)  Which I love!
Yes, I feel the same way about flowers.  I actually had 3 clients today. My friend who does my hair, her father - -in -law came for the first time for a massage, & I had two of my regular waxing clients.
One of them brought me theses! She is the one who came & stayed w/ Angel the one weekend I went away, years ago. She also used to always buy him a Christmas present too. (she also has a kitty).
The colour is so rich, the red seems to have mauve tinges in it. That's why it's so gorgeous.
The flowers are lovely. Are they flowers or a plant of daffodils?
Be well my love. Hugs

Yes, that has happened in the past. I will tell you why, "remembering my cosmetology training here."  The reds have a larger molecule, so it doesn't absorb as deeply into the hair cuticle, & that's where the fading comes from. However, over the past few years, they have really improved reds, so the key is to get a good line (product). My hairdresser used to use Lanza on me, which is a good one, but she has switched lines to another one, I can't remember the name. (All professional use only) It's all about having a good hairdresser who stays on top of new things, does their continuing ed. trainings, etc... So they really know what's out there.

I haven't had much trouble w/ fading in a long time. I think using a shampoo & conditioner for color treated hair makes a big difference too!  I think we only have to pull my color through to the ends, (not just touch up the new growth) maybe every 3-4 times, so that's about every 10-15 weeks.  Maybe less. That's where the glaze also helps.

And yes, if you don't have enough depth in a base color, it will look orange.  I/m sure she mixes a couple of colors to get mine, (something from the brunette colors w/ a red)  but just one process.

I've also done lowlights in the fall, & highlights in the summer, but only do the lowlights once, as it causes too much damage.

@Stewball, Thank you, & they are yellow Tulips.

I'm not sure what line my hairdresser uses, but I do know the salon changes the line from time to time.  I had a vibrant red once that I really loved, but it literally washed out in my shower!   Maybe my hair isn't the right texture to really hold the red for a long time.  Course I only get it coloured every other cut.  So every 3 months.  Maybe that's the problem!
